The sun was out here in tropical Dinnington and with a free afternoon I set out to try to emulate the 10k I managed a couple of weeks back.
The paths around Big Waters nature reserve will still extremely muddy but it was a pleasant first half to the run with the sun shining and early spring bird song everywhere, Robins, Dunnocks and Blackbirds in particular and also a couple of hovering Kestrels looking for a tasty morsel.
Back into the village and approaching 8k I felt good and decided to keep going ending at my front door at 12k in a time I am pretty happy with at 1hour 26 mins.
Time to to put my feet up and enjoy some of the Winter Olympics.
Run Happy, run safe πββοΈ

Oh my days! When I was born I lived in hazelrigg, then went to seaton burn to live with me grandparents in office houses opposite what used to be the miners arms and then the drift inn.Me mam and me then got a house in ivy street seaton burn and there I stayed until I joined the army in 1980.
Iβm happily married now for 34 years and hubby and I live out in the sticks on the border of Monmouth, between Hereford and Monmouth.
I did wonder when I saw the name Dinnington but it was the tropical bit that threw me slightly ha! ha! Geordie humour of course!
Eeee! It a small world pet.
Hubby and I got married in the sacred heart church north gosforth,1984!
I'm from Guildford!! I presume you went to the barracks at Stoughton?, I'm from just down the road in Park Barn π
The barracks were called The Queen Elizabeth barracks. I canβt remember if that was at Stoughton. However as there was only one WRAC camp in Guildford I assume itβs the same place.
We used to drink in the horse and groom and the seven stars. They might have gone now though!ππ
They were Stoughton and i know both those pubs π
Many great nights were had in those pubs. But now Iβm semi retired, hubby is retired and I will retire from the NHS operating theatres anaesthetics next year and our drinking days are over ha! ππ
Nice to revive some great memories and great chatting with you Chris.
