When I very first started c25k in 2013 I downloaded Map my Run without much thought and with zero research.
It does more or less what I like but I’m considering switching as I hear good things about Strava, runna, nrc etc. I like the training plans they have as well as the suggested routes.
Interested to hear what people use and their pros and cons for any apps they use. If I do switch I don’t want to have to do it again as I do like seeing all my running history…

I feel your pain about losing your running history. I felt the same switching from Fitbit to garmin. The good news is now I’ve got a whole load of new history having used it for months and it doesn’t seem a big deal to have said goodbye to my old runs.
Garmin tracks all my runs, but I could also have done that with Nike Run Club. I really like the guided runs and training programmes-they’re easily the main advantage of using that particular app. The tracking isn’t amazingly accurate and it’s occasionally glitchy. If you don’t want guided runs, I’m sure there are better options!
Strava is a very good app but it's Mapmyrun that I have had for almost 6 years and have never had any problems with it.The pay version has training plans like Strava and your running history as the free version of Mapmyrun, I also use Mapmywalk and Mapmyride for walking and cycling respectively
I have recorded all my 5K, 10K + runs on Mapmyrun since 17th July 2019 but no 3K what I call maintenance runs and no parkruns either, however, I have a direry going back to run 1 of week 1 of C25K which has ALL my runs including 3K's and parkruns I have ran
On completion of my C25K, I bought a Garmin and love it. I also do runs on NRC and enjoy the guided runs very much. Right now, I'm on the 10K NRC plan.
I like to keep things pretty simple. I have about 5 running routes on my doorstep so I don’t need an app to tell me where to go. I can run a 5K, 7K, 11K loop as well as a 6K out and back along a river which I love to run with my dog. She is a Cocker Spaniel and loves it too. Plenty of ducks about. I use Garmin Connect to download from my watch and it links the run or walk direct to Strava. Other than that I use a 5K app for parkrun.
Strava addict here - switched to it as I approached the end of C25k in 2018 and never looked back. Record runs on my Apple Watch using the Strava app. Love the social aspects of it, and I find the fitness & freshness feature a really good guide to avoid under or over training. As I am a stats fanatic, I also use the cheap add-on app Veloviewer, which sucks in everything from Strava and then provides back more stats / forecasts etc than you can possibly imagine! Finally, in recent months I have started using the Runna app which provides a comprehensive training plan for a specific goal, adjusted to your current pace, which days of the week you prefer to run, etc, with yoga, Pilates, strength training in there too. As a result of using Runna, I am finally doing interval sessions properly, and am beginning to get a feel for my various paces too. I think with those three - Strava, Veloviewer and Runna - I’ve got everything covered!
I started out with the free version of Runkeeper when I graduated from C25K 2 years ago, because it seemed fairly easy to use and it had been mentioned on this forum. I was a total novice with fitness apps, so I had a lot to learn. It seemed intuitive and it was fun selecting the voice-over characters, depending on my mood. I experimented with the various stats called, but found that I didn't like a load of stats interrupting my music. My pace was sometimes called as 0 min per km, which made me laugh. Now I just ask for km calls if I'm out on a long run. At the end of a run, the pace, cadence, elevation and pace splits are all recorded. I still like the simplicity. I use it to track long cycles too. Runkeeper is associated with Asics and I like Asics shoes. I earned a one year subscription to Runkeeper Go (which has a few more bells and whistles than the free version) because I bought a pair of Asics shoes last week. At the moment I'm training using the WithU app, so I use it together with Runkeeper (switched to no audio mode).
