I don't know if anyone's had this problem before but my Strava app was Auto pausing it was glitching it was in my side mesh pocket while I was running and it says I ran 2.23 k and my Fitbit said 4K and my Samsung App said 5K but I time myself and I ran for 25 minutes I feel fantastic I guess the idea is it doesn't matter I ran but I would like to use an accurate app to know what I'm at going forward because my goal is to move up to 10K so anyways you guys are great that's all I got to say and I got to find a good app that's accurate🏃♀️👍💖
What tracker do you use?: I don't know if... - Bridge to 10K
What tracker do you use?
Fantastic 25min run, however fast it was. I wear a Garmin forerunner 35, very happy with it and loads of stats. I don't like the auto pause function, tried it on the bike and found a lag behind when restarting. I've tried phone based apps but found the gps signal and therefore the tracking to be a bit suspect. Garmin has had the same problem but only in serious mountain country. You do need something you can trust. Happy running 🤗
I'm not sure what's happened on your strava app, I used on its own for a long time and didn't have any problems. I now use a garmin that transfers the run over to strava. Don't trust the Samsung health app as it always says I've run 1k more than i did. I don't use it but it runs in the background . Hope you get it sorted 👍😊
Another vote for a Garmin watch. Always used to run with my phone but held it to ensure a good GPS signal. If it was covered (in a pocket for example) no matter which app I used, they'd be affected by problematic GPS and be less accurate.
Eventually got bored of holding phone so bought a Garmin 645 Music in a sale at Argos. Never looked back!
parkrun is nearly always measured somewhere between 4.95 and 5.05 km which is good enough for me.
I've had a Garmin for a over two years now, apart from a one off glitch where it went a bit crazy its been totally reliable. I've just upgraded to a Garmin 30 and so far I can't fault it, so sorry I don't really have any use for apps, but I can totally recommend the Garmin.
All the apps are dependent on the hardware of your device and so in theory are as accurate as each other... the rate at which they request location may differ, but asking more often doesn’t necessarily produce more accuracy. Apps on my phone regularly measure parkruns closer to 5k than my Garmin does, but I prefer the watch as it is designed to do just the one job, and thus has fewer glitches.
I like Adidas appp
Interesting thread. I've been comparing my Samsung app (I love how it talks to me at every km giving me time and pace stats) and Strava. Both loose GPS at times but that is probably down to my ancient phone rather than the app. I also borrowed my daughters fitbit but found it useless on the run because I can't see it without my reading glasses. I think I will have to look at Garmins. One for a smallish wrist but with a big enough face that I can read it! Do any of the garmins talk to you or let you know when you reach each km rather than having to look at it?
