I have had a couple of days of driving and sitting about catching up with old friends so today I really needed to run. Unfortunately the last couple days have involved alcohol and not enough water so it wasn’t an easy run at all. I only managed 30 mins and then went home for my shower
BUT I did wear my new bargain trainers ( rrp £139, I paid £38, brand new with tags still, from Vinted!!!) and they went beautifully with my leggings and were very cheerful looking
AND I took a lovely pic of a weeping willow over the river, so I am glad I went, and I will make sure to hydrate properly before the next run.
This afternoon we are at the Exeter Balloon Festival. Bit of a let down really- mainly an arena full of expensive funfair and a tent with abysmal Tribute acts and no sign of a Balloon so far …..I was worried we were going to be too hot this afternoon but it’s quite chilly and we have another 3 and half hours to wait for the balloons to go up (weather permitting and rain is forecast) . So we have gone back to the car to warm up. My friend has gone to sleep so I thought I’d write my post and show you all my new shoes too. 😁

I really like those shoes.. and the leggings too.. very cheerful. I usually buy boring black, navy or grey but now you’ve made me hanker for something brighter..🤔
Lovely bridge photo, and your weather looks better than ours.. cold and grey here and I’ve just had to stop digging and weeding the garden as it’s started to pour down..again🌧️😩
Thanks I have 56 pairs of ridiculous capris and leggings with various themes, dragons, cats, flamingoes, owls, Day of the Dead ones and also Day Of the Dead skeleton cats, Halloween pumpkins, Christmas ones etc, from Various companies- Be Your Happy place, Kukubird, FunkyFit, CarolinaDressroom…
They cheer me up on a dull day. And after years of wearing boring dull uniforms I retired and wear what I feel like and enjoy it.
I’ve done it now.. you made me do it.. I’ve just ordered some new trail shoes for my holiday.. Sportshoes reduced to £69.99 - and they are bright orange..🤣
Saucony Endorphins. I’ve worn Saucony Peregrines for four years. Version 10 wore out, version 11 hurt my bunion, so I gave them to my daughter. Then I had bunion surgery and went up a shoe size because my big toe is longer now.. so I bought version 12, which quickly developed a hole and has become my gardening shoe. Now I mostly wear and love Peregrine version 13 (grey!). My prosthetic leg is set up for low drop shoes so I have limited choice. I also have a pair of Altra (zero drop) Timp 4 (boring navy 🤣). I’m a bit on the fence about them. Hoping the Endorphins will be similar or better than Peregrines.. both 4mm drop.
Ooo love those shoes limberlou ! My daughter would like those as she always goes for bright colours. 😍
Good for you getting out for your 3k. Extra kudos for doing that after the few days you’ve had. I bet you felt better for it!
Shame about the balloons - I hope they went up later. There’s the huge balloon fiesta here in Bristol in August and I always feel so sorry for them if the weather doesn’t cooperate. Otherwise, like you say, it all ends up being a bit of a flop. Seeing balloons tethered doesn’t quite cut the mustard does it? 🎈
We didn’t even see them tethered!! Think it was a con. Lots of people complaining. Apparently 12 went up at 7am( but no one was allowed in that early to see them) and we got there at 1 and were told the next lot would be at 7pm- weather permitting. But there weren’t any even on the site just a big fairground and vastly overpriced food stalls. And the Tribute acts were all dreadful - apart from the Amy Winehouse one. We left at 6.30 and there is now a Facebook site of people complaining and wanting refunds 🥴
Yeah the run was the best bit of the day 😂😂. I have 3 pairs of that style now to alternate ( n case of rain etc) , teal, blue and the pink ones . All so comfy and supportive. Mizuno Wave Inspire 18s & 19s.
I’m a bit late limberlou but I hope you got to see some balloons in the end! A 30 minute run is still a run so well done you for getting out there after being so sociable! And I love the shoes, what a colour!
