Thank you for the kind messages and support for my eye surgery. RunBrianRun posted an excellent race report about half hour before I left for the clinic which took my mind off it completely,. Yesterday was just bazaar, I was taken to the clinic by a neighbour and brought home 2 hours later with no glasses on and suddenly making sense of the world. The procedure really was quick and painless, and a very kind nurse held my hand throughout.
My eye is still a little blurry and thank goodness for cheap reading glasses but it was when I got home I really noticed the difference. Recently I started painting and was disappointed that the bright white gloss on doors and frames didn't look much different to before, now I can see it probably didn't need doing because it's all bright white π€£.so my slightly dingy home looks all fresh and new again.
I should be able to run in a couple of weeks so not a long break.
What a wonderful running community this is xx

I know that frustrating feeling! It helped me to remember my top job was recovery and that would happen in the right time frame if I behaved myself and didnβt push too fast-not my natural happy place!! .
Youβve got so much to look forward toβ¦running with clear vision is going to be such a joy!
So glad to hear that it went well. I well remember just how amazed I was at how bright everything was. Finally made sense why hubby and I had completely different views of paint colours, clothing etc π
Yes, I kept saying to Willow we needed to gloss all the paintwork, he kept saying it was fine, then when I did some there wasn't much difference, so it wasn't him not wanting to bother it was my eyes. I'm so enjoying being able to make sense of the world around me
I was wondering about you and whether you'd had your op yet. I'm so glad it went well.I had mine on Wednesday but it was a much less positive experience than yours.
The actual op was fine, but everything else was a disaster. I was there forever, they didn't have the biometry, got moved to the afternoon list and had to ask if I could possibly have some water or a drink after I'd been there 3 hours and they all cleared off for their lunch.
But being able to see out of my right eye again is wonderful! But the light seems so bright
I had a short walk to get some air yesterday afternoon in the grey cloudy murk wearing my sunglasses. I did get a couple of strange looks.
Remember no bending though- I hope you moved your crisps up out from the bottom cupboard! π
I'd been wondering about you too, yes isn't everything bright? I was very lucky it seems, I'm sorry your experience wasn't so good. I can't wait for the other one to be done, and looking forward to driving again. I was going for a walk but it's blowing a hooley out there so I'll wait til it calms down a bit.
Thanks - you too. My left eye is fine so I reckon I should be fine for driving. We should both hopefully be able to go for a run again in just under 2 weeks time
A lovely success story Sue! ππ Itβs amazing what they can do nowadays isnβt it? Enjoy your bright new world and count the days down until you get back out running. π
πSo pleased it went so well Sue. We miss you so much when you not aroundβ¦ your invaluable contribution to our forums is so appreciated but take care &?ease back in gently! β€οΈπ§‘
So pleased that all went well!Time to rest up and heal before hitting the streets again. Lovely to hear that your house is sparkler than you thought. -result !!!!
A result all round, I no longer dislike the dingy grey we painted the sitting room aas it's now a clearer slightly bluey grey, which means I'm not in such a hurry to change it, π€£π€£π€£ rest for a couple of weeks and my running plan for after that is already written π€£π€£π€£
I crochet too, but love knitting, I finished a pale grey Aran jumper for Willow in February and he loved it, wore it pretty much every day until end of March I'm so pleased I got it finished, he had 7 of my hand knitted jumpers, all but one went to his kids, but I kept the first one I made him,
Ooo yes, I'm so excited , we took the dog out for a quick run last night and I realised how clear the road was I don't think it'll be long before I'm driving
Very pleased to read of your successful cataract operation. How many days after the op were you seeing clearly enough to knit? My sister had a cataract operation on Friday and says she can't see what she is typing to message me. In fact, there was only one typing error in her message, so she has in fact managed to type. I am so very pleased for you. I wonder how clearly you can see these get well soon flowers?πΉπΈπΊπΌπ»π·π
Thank you, I got reading glasses, I can see to type phone messages without but it's easier with. I knitted on the first day but unless it's an intricate pattern I don't look at it all the time. The biggest thing for me is I have double vision and without my glasses with prisms it's weird, I can just about read a number plate at 20 metres but not driving yet. It's not perfect but it is wonderful
Thank you, I've just seen your post and pleased for you too. I enjoyed a good walk this afternoon, the sea was sparkling, I can't believe the difference it's making. We thought we'd poke some baby hats and mittens in next year's Christmas shoe boxes so I'm starting early.
