Taken from Phil Hewitt's book 'Outrunning the Demons', a collection of stories about people who have used running to help them cope during difficult times.
Dan Keeley has bi-polar disorder and ran from 'Rome to Home' (the Colosseum to the London Eye), to raise funds for a mental health charity.
It kind of says it all, really. Of course we love the challenges we set ourselves; the training programmes, the PB's, and the great days out with like-minded folk, the Parkruns and the bling - but it all comes down to something very simple really and that is it's beauty and maybe why we need it in this busy world. Worth remembering sometimes! π€ Thanks Dan!ππππ½ββοΈππ»

I love this. It really is that simple, and one I sometimes forget when I'm fretting about distance and times/pace, but running saved me in it's beautiful analogy for life of you just keep putting one foot in front of the other. π₯°
