Iβm sneaking quietly back in the room after a long spell lacking lustre and just not being able to find the energy to run.
The winter and darkness has been challenging, along with a lot of changes this year! Job, fitness, life in general really. Itβs kind of difficult to stay on track when youβre just exhausted. Sometimes you just need to stop to start again.
But today, I woke up on a mission to have a thank you run for everything fabulous that 2018 has brought in my life, before 2019 begins. I thought about the fact that I havenβt run for about a month and a half, but a smile came soon after thinking π€ π βyou havenβt run for 48 (and a bit) years before this year, so really....whatβs a month?β
Kit on and time to drive to my favourite spot! My 5k tribute playlist in tow and I was back doing the Nike App βThank You Runβ. I have a lot to be thankful for and I had a fantastic, enjoyable and sometimes emotional 45 minutes of non stop thanks for everything and to everyone, just being here, running!! π₯° I was pumped that I ran just short of 5k by the end too. I did it!! ππ½
Iβd like to say a big thank you to all my running buddies who sent me messages that I was so very grateful for. I hope 2019 is brilliant for us all!!
Welcome back. Well done for getting back out there. A great way to celebrate what you have achieved in 2018 and a great way to start the New Year. Your posts have inspired many of us over the past few months
Thanks so much Shakey!! Hopefully an inspiration to get back out on the run for some too! Itβs only over if we let it be!! ππ! Happy 2019 to you too! π₯°β€οΈ
Nice to see you back, you have been missed! Enjoy your running and please keep posting here- it will keep you focussed and I HATE it when people drop out of sight
Aah thanks so much Sybil! π I thought I might have to stop and walk a bit and prepared myself to be just fine with that, but no stopping necessary! Just nice slow and all go!! πππβ€οΈ
Thanks so much Dexy!! Yes, my little weighing it all up this morning was full of great running times!! So out I went!! Iβll have my last run of 2018 and ready for more in 2019!! Happy New Year to you and Stanley! π₯°π₯°β€οΈ
Yaaaaaaay welcome back! Iβm so pleased you you are here again you are an inspiration! When Iβm not really feeling it and want to stop after 10 minutes I think of your post where you did 10 minutes just because you could and I think itβs okay 10 minutes is better than nothing! Happy Fabulous New Year xxxx
Aah thanks so much Bridget! Letting it all go was challenging too, but fun has always been the motivator and Iβm feeling that again from my first run, which is so absolutely fabulous!
Itβs been a great year and my biggest achievement. You are,and always will be, fabulous. Letβs keep running VRB, 2019 beckons! ππ»ββοΈππΎββοΈπ
Glad to see you back! I was wondering where you'd gone to. Well done on your return run. I found a months rest saw me coming back stronger so hope you find the same. Here's to 2019 πΈ
Thanks Beanjo! Wasnβt the plan, but it was a very nice surprise! I planned to walk run as needed and just get to focus on my thank youβs and a little touch of magic occurred when I looked at the end!! π²! A big helping of gratitude for the body that was able to do it!
Thanks Flick!! I think coming to the last day of the year had to be sealed with something that feels great! That certainly did the trick! Happy New Year!! β€οΈ
Welcome back Fabulous! Iβve missed your posts. You really kept me going in the heat of summer to get to C25k graduation. Happy New Year and happy return to running πππ
Donβt know how I missed your post Fab, but Happy New Year to you, and hereβs to a magnificent 2019 full of wonderful runs, long and short! ππ
So glad youβre back, and so glad you had a lovely run that day. Iβm taking a couple of days off having done the double at parkrun yesterday. Glad that only happens once a year with my 2 hilly ones! π
Aah thanks Cheeky!! Iβm back!! I even had a sneaky very short run yesterday too! A New Year and Iβm here run! I was back to my usual humour, taking layers off and laughing at myself for wrapping up waaaaay to much! WTH??π€£π€£π₯΄ππ! I was actually asking for a bit of rain!! Lol
Yes, itβs brilliant to be back and so grateful for the warm welcome back from everyone!! Thank you!! Happy running in 2019! π₯°β€οΈ
I don't visit this forum as much as I used to, but glad I popped in and saw this post. You were one of my great influencers in 2018, teaching me the joy of running, something I will always be grateful for. Great to see you have your mojo back, hope it stays with you, you truly are fabulous Fabulous450 π
Thank you so much Berksrover!! Iβm so glad to be able to motivate others as much as you all motivate me!! I have a few calamities thatβs for sure π€£, but I love that I can see that as just being human! Itβs good to share the warts and all, as sometimes we think weβre the only ones! But my buddies on this forum have opened up a whole new way to share and realise actually, itβs pretty βnormalβ and life goes on!!
Iβm looking forward to seeing you some more then Berksrover! Donβt forget youβre inspiring me too!! Thank you!! π€π€β€οΈ
Hi Fab, so pleased you got out there and did it again. It was certainly a shock when the weather started getting cooler and the days shorterπ³
Iβve been lucky enough to be able to carry on my running journey and Iβm now looking forward to longer days and warmth. In the meantime my head torch will have to provide the light!
Hope you have a great 2019 and carry on running when you can.πββοΈAs many of us have found, itβs great for mental as well as physical healthππ
Hey David!! ππ½ππ½π€π€π€! Thank you so much! Travelling for work and fitting everything in has been such a challenge, when the days are so short! Just couldnβt find that flow! But one thing this has taught me is that it is important to be reasonable with yourself and your limits. Running is the thing I was doing for myself that has so many benefits. I feel so great! I donβt have to lose a pound and I have so much energy!! ππ½ So, there are other things Iβll be rearranging to care for myself a little bit more! The me that does that feels absolutely fabulous too! So, hereβs to a great 2019 for us all!! π₯°β€οΈ
Ah thank you Mayanow!! I had to give my body what it needed, but there was the thing about letting go of one of the only things I was truly doing just for me! Not for the kids, not for the home, not even for the future, but for the me, right now! Going out there means I matter too and it feels fantastic to kind of make that statement. The world can wait, Iβm on my run!!
Go on Mayanow! Make your statement!! We can do this!! πͺπ½π₯°β€οΈ
Ah youβre back!!! I also wondered where youβd gone and whether you were still running. What a comeback run! I bet you were buzzing afterwards.
Life does get in the way sometimes I guess the key thing is not to give yourself a hard time for not being able to run as often as youβd like. Just get out there when you can and it seems as though youβve been able to pick up where you left off!
Glad to hear from you Fabulous450 ...I wondered where youβd got to...your mojo mustβve been out partying with mine coz Iβve been the same....Iβve still been running but not enjoying it half as much as I did. Until Monday....I ran on New Yearβs Eve...the anniversary of losing my Mum...and it was such a special run. It reminded how much I benefit from a good run. Well done on your 2018 journey and hereβs to our 2019 chapter xxx
ππ½ππ½! Mummycav! Iβm so glad to hear about your inspirational run! I too had thoughts about the people I love and lost and that inspired me to get out there and enjoy everything about being alive! The fact is, we can just be swept along non stop and it doesnβt feel that great or we can pump the brakes and tell the world, whatever it is, it will have to be later, because Iβm doing me! The latter feels pretty fantastic too! When we take the time, we are so much better for everyone else too! π₯°
Letβs keep that going Mummycav! 2019! πͺπ½π€π€β€οΈ
