Run 2 speed run to the river

My neighbour walked, I did the second run of my HM plan. The weather was perfect and the view as I ran under the bridge beautiful. 5 min warm up, I walked and faffed about with music etc. 1 min run at 5k pace and 1 minute recover which I walked. 8 times then 30 seconds run fast and walk, I walked back to meet my neighbour then we continued so she walked 5k

Drinking loads of water

Have a good run or rest this weekend

That looks like a nice place to walk or run, and it looks flat. Well done

That looks lovely Sola. 😁 I said I would never be interested in doing a HM, but your posts have tempted me to maybe give the NRC plan a go! I recall a while back that someone posted a link to a google sheet version of the plan. Wondering if anyone could point me towards it?

Good luck with your HM journey 😁.

the google plan is for the 10k…NRC for some bizarre reason don’t have their 10k plan linked. The HM plan is a proper linked plan…find it on the app under plans! 😊

I think the 10k is under pinned posts…

Edit: here’s the link…

Thanks for replying. I just love my spreadsheets and thought I could download the HM plan so I could track progress add lots of info on each run. I’ll just manually add into my existing spreadsheet run tracker. 😁

The app tracks what you've done, I made a spreadsheet though so I can see at a glance if I'm progressing or going backwards, with doing a lot I might just get slower and slower 😀

Thanks Sola. Not sure how I’ll cope with a speed run- I only have one pace, whether it’s 5k or 10k!

I suggest starting with “First Fartlek Run” with Coach Bennett…after a slow warm up run, you spend 10 minutes changing through all the different paces…or ‘efforts’ as CB likes to remind us!

Thanks. Will try that first.👍

Great work, well done. What a view under that bridge 👍 It just makes me want to know what's round the bend.

I went round the bend, and there's another bend but I went much further for the 10k and can't wait for the longer runs again

I did “just a run” yesterday from W3 yesterday…I’m hoping to run my 10K tomorrow…I’ll borrow it from W4! 😂

That sounds like fun. Just after I graduated, a friend made me do speed intervals with him and it definitely helped me a lot. Maybe I'll join you!

Great run for you! Those intervals are challenging but so much fun. I always get such a grin at the end-maybe that’s relief that it’s over! Hoping to try that run this week too. I’ll think of you!

I too was grinning I walked the recovery parts and so enjoyed it, enjoy yours

I always walk the recovery part unless it’s a hill workout where running downhill doesn’t feel so much of an effort!!! Thanks for the good wishes-I’ll post about how it goes.

Brilliant, I'd forgotten about the hill repeats, last time I found the steepest hill I could, ran up then walked back down, again and again, and got further up the hill the more I did

Well done Sola, I take my hat off to you!! I admire your tenacity, and I know you will come through with “Flying “ colours. If I ever get off the IC, I will certainly look at that plan, it has been my intention to do a HM for the last two years, but injuries keep getting in the way. Will look forward to your progress!!

Ooooh I remember that run on the HM plan! I thought I'd get a bit bored with so many reps but I actually really enjoyed it. Hope you're enjoying your HM training 😊
