Took a few days break. Got bored. Quit the plan. Couldn't decide what to do next. It's been a rough few days. Neighbour took a break too, went to a party, drank too much, had a migraine and went to see Tom Jones. Darn it, I meant to get a ticket and go with her and forgot. Fast forward to today. We better do something. Went to the river. Set a 60 minute run on NRC. 1 min run 1 min walk on watch. Lewis Capaldi in Spotify . Neighbour set up week 3 run 3 on C25k and we were off.
My aim was to keep my heartrate to 140 which I managed for about 3k then it increased with my effort.
Beautiful sunshine, river high and very blue, stopped on the way back to take photos. Really enjoyed this run.
Neighbour completed her run then turned and walked back. We met back near the bridge and stopped our watches. 6k in 58 minutes which I'm happy with. Strava tells me every kilometre was 9 something minutes, what I like about jeffing is that I don't tire and the end is around the same pace as the beginning.
Home, glass of water, kettle on, stretch, change, bowl of fruit and cream, cup of tea, the break did me good.
Who knows what the flower is? It's later in the year than I'd expect and very pretty and quite rare.
Run happy VRB's

Well done Sue on your run and super time. I think taking a few days away from running for whatever reason can refresh us and we enjoy the new runs.🥰🏃♀️🏃♀️x
some times we just need a break to recharge our batteries and rest up. Well done on your 6k. I seem to have a mental block and can’t get past 5k at the moment - probably the heat.
you probably needed the break, you have been doing a or of running and walking lately . Tom jones still a good singer for his age. I like Green Green Grass of Home. Well done on your run. 😊
I know what you mean about the plan. I love a good plan, but I haven’t run for a week. Nothing to do with 10k being the next run…honest! It’s been too hot, and now it’s too wet…😬🙈
We shall see. My first 60 minute run on the Magic Plan was just under 6k. I remember looking after I’d finished, and was so annoyed!
Thanks, 😃 I used to think I could get 6k in an hour on a good day, I think I'm going to Jeff the longer runs and build up continuous running over shorter times,
It’s so easy for that to happen-I’m sure many of us have done exactly the same. I know I have! When I’ve done the half marathon plan both times before, I’ve needed to add some cut back weeks to catch up with myself and not burn out. You’ve done exactly the right thing in taking a break.
Twas my neighbour who had a hangover and went to the Tom Jones concert, twas me who forgot I was supposed to get a ticket, but it's ok, Wish I could play guitar I have 2 here but just can't, sax clarinet and keyboard are my limit, oh and I vang the drums every so often, not that good at any of them, I guess one day I shall dismantle the studio but for now it sits there
Don't want a couple more do you? I'm not ready yet but one day I'll have to take them down and give them away, I should play the keyboard more but I like the sax 🎷 best I like to make noise 😂
You did brilliantly to get out there Sue. As with C25K, I am sure these plans can be stretched and tailored to suit, and you have been doing and going through a lot lately. Whether that is a coping mechanism or what, as long as you enjoy the running and it makes you feel better, there is nothing you HAVE to do, except take one day at a time and be kind to yourself. The break will do you good, I'm sure. The opportunity to see Tom Jones will surely appear again soon .... you might be able to catch him somewhere else? 👏🫖🏃♀️🙆♀️🚶♀️🧘♀️🎷💕
Thanks, I'm not that bothered about seeing Tom, maybe that's why I forgot to get a ticket. Retirement was supposed to be our time and now it's just my time which is taking a bit of adjusting to but onwards we all go and running helps.
