My plan for this morning was a gentle recovery run. Following MissUnderstanding 's advice I found a drum and bass mix on BBC Sounds (Radio 1 - I thought they might check my age and not allow me to download it 😂)
It was great, so upbeat, it took all the Monday cobwebs away. I realised I was running way faster than I should be, pretty sure it was hitting 180 beats per minute at one point and I was nearly matching it!!
Once I realised what I was doing I managed to slow down a little bit but my average cadence was 161 spm whereas for, say, the tempo run it was 159 according to NRC. Not complaining though, it felt great and I'll definitely try this again...though maybe not if I'm attempting to recover.
Ooh, and I got negative splits for the first time in forever. OK, it was only 3.6 km but I'll take it as a win
