The run I planned and the run I ran (ranned???)

With warm weather forecast for today the plan was to get up at 7, be out by 8 and run 5k before it got too hot.

The reality, woke at 8, out of bed around 9, running by 9.30, 3k covered, hot.

Then there was the route. The paths are overgrown which makes for slow going so I wanted to run along the quayside. Mr Y didn't fancy it, by 9.30 on a sunny Sunday there would be lots of people walking their dogs, eating breakfast etc.

My shoelaces came undone twice which wasn't on my to do list either.

So I didn't run where, when or for how long I intended. I wasn't planning on setting any PBs today so at least I kept to that goal 😂

Despite not turning out how I expected it was a pretty good little run anyway. Positives: I got out there, I didn't fall over and it is so beautiful in the fields. As Coach Bennett may have said, it wasn't the run I wanted but it was the run I needed :)

it’s amazing what going even half an hour later does to the temperature! Sounds like you made the best of it and were sensible in cutting shorter than planned. Shoelaces coming undone is always an omen that it’s going to be one of those runs! You did a great job in trying circumstances!!!

Once I decided to enjoy it rather than grumble it was fine (and that happened very early in the run 😁)

Excellent!! Sometimes we just need to get that grumble out of our system and run past it!!

Snap.... I ran the run I could and not the run I planned too! It was very warm and very pollen laden here too ! I had shoelace glitch too!! Were we on the same run?

Beautiful run and beautiful photograph...and loads of positives at the end of it as well. Well done you! x
