Terrible day, good run..

Hello folks,

Had been having a terrible day at work and luckily had got changed into my running kit first thing this morning to minimise the risk of me flaking out.

Work was so bad I almost flew out the door πŸ˜‚

And the prospect of getting back to work was so unappealing I ran for a bit longer than planned an hit 8k!

8 k is a bit of a magic number for me as it’s the longest I ever ran after doing c25k 9 years ago and it feels like my goal of doing a 10 k is actually realistic!

Shame that work is so bad but glad if this unintended boost!

Hope everyone is having a good day (work, running or other) 😊

I hope that 8K run destressed you a bit ReyC, as they say "it was one of those days", many runners tell us on this forum that running makes them feel a bit better after a hard day at work, I hope tomorrow will be better for you at work.

Thanks! You are right, it always helps me to think through issues and even if I don’t resolve them, I have accomplished somthing by doing my run which makes me feel better 😊

Sometimes when works bad you just need to run to clear your head, sounds like you just got it right

And don't forget that 8km is almost exactly 5 miles.

Have I got this right? You've been working all day in your running kit?

Not that dissimilar to your own wfh sartorial style, surely nowster ?! πŸ˜‰

Not quite! It depends. Most of the time I'm in a cotton hoodie and tracksuit bottoms.

At the moment I am kitted up, waiting for a gap in the rain in a (forecasted) half hour, and have been for over an hour. No video calls left for the day, so I don't care what I look like.

haha. Yep, when I plan to run I just get into my running kit so I’m less likely to chicken out!

Shameful bit today was that run was at noon and didn’t have a chance to shower or change! πŸ«£πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

Tough day runs are often the best ones. That distance must have felt wonderful. 8k is such a great distance to run and that 10k is well within your grasp now! Yay for you!

Hope tomorrow is a better day ❀️

There's nothing like a run after a tough day at work! Well done on that 8k, so very very close to the magic 10. And you know what? If you can run 8k, you can run 9k. And if you can run 9k... 10k is just round the corner πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

this is my mantra at the moment!
