3 days off!

I couldnโ€™t believe on Wednesday when I looked at the rota that Iโ€™d booked today as annual leave which gives me a 3 day weekend off ๐Ÿ˜€

Our run this morning was uneventful, a bit of gentle slow running, 1k pushing it a bit, a bit of jeffing for the third k and a sprint finish. Overall slightly further in 30 minutes than the last few.

The sky was grey, the air colder than weโ€™ve felt, a few dog walkers and us, everyone else wearing coats and scarves, after the first k threw my hoodie on the bonnet or my car and ran free with bare arms, it was lovely and came home smiling. Willow ran without limping, shows his knee is a lot better.

Itโ€™s a good day, we woke happy, we ran happy, we have a lot to be grateful for in these times of lock downs and worry over covid, and those gremlins seem to have moved out

Have a great weekend everyone

What an uplifting positive post, thanks for sharing ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜. Oh how fab for you to have 3 days off. I forget how lucky I am sometimes to be retired...so you've reminded me of the joy I felt at having even one day off...I worked as a housekeeper until January this year. Enjoy those precious days off. You ran with bare arms!! Crikey..I ran with a thermal vest on under my cosy running jacket and a woolly hat๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚. ...and no limping...and no gremlins๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘. All in all, sounds like a very good run. And you're so right there is a lot to be grateful for. Enjoy a very happy weekend. ๐ŸฆŒ๐Ÿข๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Thank you, Iโ€™ve now washed the car, got ham cooking and fruit soaking for the christmas cake, I have just over a year to retirement and not sure if iโ€™m looking forward to it or not

Buddhagal profile image
Buddhagal in reply to SueAppleRun

Yes..I was absolutely very very keen to retire. I was fortunate because my partner and I spent Jan to March traveling in our caravan. Then lockdown of course. Back on the road in the van till end September, so it's made it "easier" ?? Somehow to get used to not working. I've had a few moments when I've briefly(v briefly!) wondered about maybe taking on a "few hours" work each week. I'm more than happy not working now. Not everyone feels the same. ๐ŸฆŒ๐Ÿข๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Itโ€™s quite chilly but after a nice gentle warm up I run in just a tiny tee shirt when i can as love the feel of the air on my arms and think of all the vitamin D i absorb

๐Ÿ‘ Fresh air is best, even some talk that Christmas Dinner should be taken outside this year, ha, that's OK in Australia, but in the UK ๐Ÿ˜‚

Christmas dinner outside would get cold too quickly but you have given me an idea, a gazebo and a fire pit and social distancing time with friends outside

I have been invited to my son in laws parents house for Christmas Day and Christmas Dinner, they have had me there for the last 7 years, so I must have behaved myself to be invited back.Incidently they live very near to the route I do all my runs, my son in laws father is the only relative who has seen me running as quite often he sees me while walking his dog.

Such an uplifting and happy post.Bare arms!! It felt cold here today (south Essex) but yes I get warm when running too.

Glad that Willows knee is getting better

Enjoy your long weekend. Hope the ham turned out ok and good luck with the Christmas cake!

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to Birdlady64

The ham was lovely thanks, the christmas cake has stalled as we have no eggs and neither of us wanted to go out again to buy some so the fruit is marinating in Southern comfort lol thatโ€™s the only alcohol we have in the house

Sounds like a lovely run and a lovely long weekend planned! I miss running with my arms and legs out, so am feeling a bit jealous!
