Little green shoots of recovery 🌱

Well today was possibly not one of my best planned runs , it has ended up as a completely unplanned day off.Although I did work yesterday for a while to take a pupil for his test and he got a good first time pass so I don't really mind.

I then unfortunately did not sleep at all last night, well maybe no more than a couple of broken hours at most , certainly not restful.

I won't go into detail other than to say it's been several weeks of a rather tense situation with a very good friend of mine in China which I think we have now resolved I'm pleased to say !

So anyway not the best run prep but the opportunity seemed to good to miss .

So after a lazy morning I decided to go for my run .

It's about 8 or 9 degrees here now so I kitted up with shorts and a long sleeved zipped running top and of course my brilliant new Shokz 😬

I did my warm-up routine in the house then as I went to go out I decided the long sleeved top woul be too warm so a quick change into a short sleeved thin t shirt .

This combination felt perfect on my warm-up walk .

I am sticking to my 2k route at the moment and my last 3 runs all included walking breaks on the 2nd kilometre.

It started off well and probably even slower slower than my last runs but that's fine as although tired when I got to 1k I just carried on with a slow run .

It was perfect weather and although I am not 100 % my head is in a better place than it's been for the last few weeks

So just 2k again but without a walk and considering where I have been lately both physically and mentally I take that as progress!

So definitely little green shoots of recovery in more ways than one .

And thanks to everyone for your support, it very much appreciated .

Happy valentines day to everyone ❀️

That is absolutely brilliant, it's good news all around. A fab run, you're in a better place physically and mentally and it sounds like the situation with your friend is also resolved. Hopefully you'll sleep better tonight! πŸ€—Happy Valentine's day πŸ₯‚

Well done Ian! Where the head goes, the rest will follow, so it’s brilliant you’re feeling a lot more positive. Your title made me think what spring flower would I like to be? Probably a daffodil 🌼 but then crocuses smell much nicer. Your little green shoots will grow into something amazing 🀩.

Good to hear you’re building up your running again. 8 or 9 degrees is just lovely weather. I felt like I needed two rest days after my 3k run on Saturday so I missed that lovely day of weather.

P.S. I had to Google Shockz; I thought they were new trainers πŸ™ˆπŸ€£

Well done Instructor57 - sometimes we just have to lace up, get out there and trust in the run to do the rest! 🀞Of course it usually does! πŸͺ„βœ¨πŸƒπŸ½

This is great! My run yesterday happened after staying up until 4am watching the Super Bowl eating pizza, snacks and all the rest. Tired runs can be tough but surprisingly energising sometimes! So glad you’re on your way back up again and the tricky situation is better too. That must be a huge relief.
