Just a Short Recovery Run πŸŒžπŸƒ

So today was just a short 15 minutes recovery run following my longer run of 8K on Sunday .

I must admit, I didn't actually feel like going out this morning but I was determined to keep the old legs moving 😁

So out at 08:30, shorts and long sleeved top proved just right today .

5 minutes warm up walk and off we go !

This was meant to be an easy run but to be honest it didn't feel that easy !

Maybe I was still a little stiff after Sundays longer run .

BUT, I guess thats the point of an easy recovery run ,

I chose a section of my normal route that I thought would be around 15 minutes and as I know this route so well then my estimation was quite accurate 😁

Nothing really unexpected on the run appart from the fact I thought it would have felt easier !

Back home , stretches done , porridge done and shower done !

Looking at my VO2MAX, it is coming up again since I have been mixing up my runs and increasing the frequency.

This is not really a surprise but it's nice to see the numbers confirm this .

During the last 3 months or so my VO2MAX had dropped and my fitness age had become older than my actual age.

This has now reversed and I am now 7 years younger than my actual age 😁

Not quite as low as it had been at one point but at least heading back in the right direction ,

Happy Running! 😁

As long as fitness age isn't used to decide pension start date 🀣

So far so good πŸ˜πŸ‘

Great to keep the legs moving on a recovery run. Well done. I did think you looked younger on your profile pic so maybe Garmin is actually right 🀣😁

Haha, yes Mr Garmin is ALWAYS right when we're getting younger 😬

P.S How is the back ?

in reply to Instructor57

I've had another 7 days on the IC but managed to get out and do a gentle 35 minutes today. Back a little sore but biggest problem was breathing with hayfever. Grrr.

Will do a short 20 tomorrow to "keep at it" and keep back from stiffening πŸ‘

Yes, if it's not one thing it's another !Thankfully my sinuses have kept ok recently .

I sometimes get a bit of lower back ache , it's been a bit of a weakness for several years 😐

V02max makes no sense, my fitness age is 19 years below my real age and i’m really not as fit as someone in their 40’s and poor Willow is sitting at 79 whatever he does, but it’s nice to see when the age goes down. That’s a good run even if a bit tougher than expected

It does sometimes appear to have a mind of its own.But yes, nice to see it go in the right direction.

It did feel a bit tough this morning but I actually feel better now for having done it. 😁

I don’t even dare look at my Garmin age right now! Well done for getting out there and doing a recovery run. Short and sweet and served its purpose! πŸ‘πŸ‘

Thanks Julia , Yes, mine had certainly taken a hit over the last few months .

But mixing them up and upping the frequency has certainly helped recover the situation .

But it was definitely a struggle to get out this morning

Sonetimes it’s like that, as we both know! With me at the moment I’m worried about getting lost. I do have a familiar 3K route now at least. That will keep me going for a couple of weeks! But I’ll soon get bored with it.

Haha, I remember getting lost once during C25K 🀣And yes, no rush !

I did a few 3ks then a 4 then a few 5's then a 6 before upping to 8 on Sunday .

I'm finding it tricky to keep the frequency up though 😐

But, we keep moving when we can 😁
