Well by the end of 2019 I was running 8 ks regularly on hilly terrain and loving it. At age 67 Id started running with c25k after 25 years in 2017. C25k was great hard but got me there. I was doing 28min 5ks and pushing for better. Then it happened I had a non running related accident jumping and snapped an ACL followed by the pandemic. I had intensive physio training from a rugby physio so even without an ACL ( and no sign of it bein fixed any time soon) I was able to function normally ie climb stairs, go up and down ladders do building work for the kids etc. But running hurt. So along with squats and cycling I stayed fit.
Then yesterday I thought I'd give c25k a go again. So out I went in the torrential rain and wind and completed the first run.
It was hard but not painful but enjoyable. I'm going to try to do alternate days to see what happens. Wish me luck.
Strangely when I got back from the run there was a letter from the consultant with an appointment. The last time I was there six months ago they said I would need a partial knee replacement and ACL reconstruction..
If they offer this I really don't know what to do. Does anyone have experience of this op and getting back to running etc
Thanks for reading.
