Garmin 10k plan run 2

After work too!! Getting home from work could have gone either way. If Willow was wearing jeans relaxing I would have happily not gone, but Willow was in shorts a tee shirt and running trainers so i changed and off we went.

Day 2 of the plan is 5 minute warm up, 30 minute easy run and 5 minute cool down…..the watch counted down the minutes and seconds so no checking pace and heart rate 😀

We matched stride for stride for the warm up walk and the first 20 minute run, then Willow went back to the car and I went to see what was happening with the old golf course, most of the paths are now tarmaced and make it very interesting as they meander round the humps, oh its lovely and as I run close to the seafront I can smell the sea.

It was 21 degrees with a light breeze which felt hot, I’d not eaten at work so was running on empty, it was incredibly slow and I covered 3.5 k in the 40 minutes, but it was lovely to be out.

Next run is called strides and seems to be intervals, that will be fun after work on Thursday

I was tempted to stop and take pictures but resisted so just my map

Garmin added a year to my fitness age and says Room to Grow

Run happy all or rest well if you need .

Well done WillowandSola, it was warm this afternoon. Maybe next time try eating a banana before you go , it will give you a little burst of energy.

I would if I could, guess I could mash one up, eating is still a challenge hence not eating at work, but good idea, it was warm and still warm on evening dog walk

Well done! I agree with the banana suggestion. I always used to run very early on an empty stomach, but I’ve been running later now and don’t like to be hungry, especially if I’m going on a longer run. A banana is the answer.

I just sort of screw my face up when i think of mashed banana, but I will try one on thursday as it’s intervals and my young friend Jo is coming so faster

What about half a portion of porridge?

You got Willow on your picture :)

I usually go out first thing but today I ran at 5.45 pm on an empty stomach just before tea and the temperature was just nice, but my leggings were too hot! When I got back in I wasn't hungry but managed to eat a vegetable curry anyway.

It takes a while to want to eat after a run

It was still warm and muggy walking the dog at 8.30 by the river but we’ll worth it for the views and happy dog

What a great run! I love the sound of the paths on the old golf course. In my humble opinion a much better use for it! Well done 😊😊😊🤩🤩🤩.

My only regret is they didn’t make them a bit wider, they are perfect for a couple of runners side by side or a wheelchair but once you get a family with a dog coming the other way you’re back on the lumpy grass 😀

Oooh I know what you mean! And even if you had a Belisha beacon strapped to your head and you were shouting the national anthem wearing day glow they still wouldn’t see you coming! 🤣

Well done on your run today with Willow . I walk on empty first thing in morning , only 4km, get shower and breakfast after walk, before work. Might have a drink of water. If walking my longer one at weekend might have half a banana , and even when I used to run that distance as well. Good luck Thursday.

Thanks, on days off I run on empty in the morning, after work i’m even emptier, tomorrow i will take some fruit to work but eating is still slow and difficult so i don’t usually eat unless at home
