Long run first again- wk 4

I blame it on the Cyclone Fili that is hurtling towards us & expected to hit us late tonight/early morning tomorrow. As per the weather watch, the wild weather is predicted to last for the rest of the week.

So, I decided to get the longest run out of the way first, again. It was still daylight when I finished work & my sister decided to join me too. I didnt want to go to the small park near her place as it is only 1.2km loop & I didnt want to do 8 rounds of it, so boring!

We again went pavement pounding around her place. She knew a 8km route & I didnt want to ask her about hills on that route & get all discouraged even before starting.

I can't believe I did a 8k, didnt walk on any of the hills..slow jogged them ๐Ÿ’ชand I felt I could still keep going when the phone started buzzing to indicate 8k completed & we were almost back to her place. We were still chatting and not too out of breath, yay!

Took us/me 1hr & 6mins (she could have done it much faster). Dont think I will be able to do 10k in 1hr as much as I would love to when on my last week of JJMP. Thats okay though, I am just happy I could run for 8k! Unreal!!

Guess the shorter runs of the week will be in rain & wind ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Congratulations!!! Thatโ€™s a fantastic run and it must be lovely to have done it with a friend.I wouldnโ€™t even think about doing 10K in an hour. Iโ€™m thinking of it like couch to 5k-you run for either 5k OR 30 minutes but this time itโ€™s further or longer than before.Iโ€™m a week (or maybe two) ahead and itโ€™s 9km for me. I did the 5km yesterday, probably 4km tomorrow and hopefully the long one on Saturday.

Enjoy your short runs!

8K, hills and chatting! Many people only manage one of those at a time and you managed all three! Thatโ€™s brilliant ๐Ÿ‘ very well done.

Well done! And don't dismiss the possibility of getting a sub-hour 10km some time in the future.
