First run of the winter and completely soaked!

Yesterday was my 5k run day- second run of the second week on the second day of Winter :) It was a typical Winter day with gusts and rain. Looking out of the office window, I didn't want to go for the run in that weather after work. The rain stopped for a bit once I was home and I reluctantly put my shoes on, drove to my sister's place and went for a 5k run with her.

2k into the run it started spitting and in a few minutes it was bucketing.

The dreaded season is upon us and I dont know how I will find the motivation to run for next three months. A cup of chai and the couch were too inviting :)

The temperatures have not dipped much yet, how wilI I continue running once temperature gets lower.

So glad I completed 12k first, on the last day of Autumn & no rain!

Its a long weekend this weekend due to the Queen's birthday and I am hoping I will be able to find a small window of 'no rain' to do another short run and nxt week's long run of 13k too!

It'll be little consolation to you that the temperatures are in the low 20s Celsius here today, and after a very wet morning it's now sunny.

Learn to embrace the cold! Wear a hat, scarf, gloves and warmer clothes which still allow you to sweat. You soon warm up.My coldest run was -10C in dry, crunchy snow, totally invigorating even though my thighs were numb from the cold (DIY cryolipo 😂)

Just go for it!

PS I didn't run in the rain

I’m also dreading Winter and the rain Me_time but I did buy an amazing jacket last year when it felt like it rained for 3 months solid. Hoka’s shake dry rain jacket helps me keep getting out there. I’m in Western Australia 😍

I perfectly understand that people in New Zealand and Australia are now in the winter season but the majority of posts on this forum are from people who live in the northern hemisphere which has just entered summer, however, I fully understand what winter weather brings, there is a lot of advice on these forums on what to wear in cold winter weather.
