Today is my day off but I worked til 10pm yesterday.
One lady who lives there asked if I was sleeping in and bringing the tablets round in the morning. No says I, it will be P tomorrow, it’s my day off, so after some thought she asked what I was going to do on my day off and I explained that I would lay in bed and read a book, she thought this was hilarious so after some discussion she asked what else I would do, so, totally running out of ideas and time I said I would go for a run! You’re joking says she!! 🤣 that took some explaining but she got it eventually that i wasn’t joking and would go for a run.
So I had to didn’t I?
We lay in, I read my book, then realized it was pancake day so we had pancakes 😀
Then when we were about to settle in for the rest of the day I remembered I was supposed to be going to the bank for some cash for work. We hastily dressed, me in running clothes Willow in jeans and out we went. Got the money went to work, handed it through the window and waved Willow off in the car.
Walked out to the main road, crossed jogged up the short steep hill to get away from the main road as settled in to a very slow steady pace, it’s dull and grey but the drizzle has almost stopped, left then right then along a bit. I’ve forgotten earbuds and tissue so once my breathing had settled down all i could hear was me sniffing, feet hitting the pavement and the odd seagull.
I was slowly plodding on and really beginning to enjoy myself. We haven’t run much lately but it still feels good, even rather full of pancakes and without music. I head for home and as I run towards the front door Garmin registers 2.5k so I’m happy, it’s just over 1k from work to home hence the round the houses a bit. I saw lots of daffodils, some hellebores and green shoots coming through in various gardens.

It’s a wonderful day thanks 😊 and my MRI is Friday so I might get some answers , you never know, there may be a bit of brain in my head, I’ve always wondered. I would have run for longer but we haven’t run much lately and i don’t want to pick up an injury Enjoy your pancakes Dexy5 😀
I have a few health concerns that need investigating, I think i mentioned tests in my last post, it’s being a struggle to get pain relief right but when the pills kick in i could run and run but sadly we are short staffed again so i’ve been putting in overtime, nice for the bank balance but not much good for running, I run when I can because I can and that gives me hope the health stuff is fixable, thank you and i will drop results in posts as i do 😀
Have a lovely day off , your pancakes Sound delicious if only I could have them🙁. Think I’ve given Mr D ideas to make them for himself. Sometimes runs come unexpectedly. Glad you enjoyed it and good luck on your MRI scan and results. 🤞🙂
It would have been lemon and sugar for me to but Willow had thrown my half a lemon away, when asked why he said it was covered in black mould 😞 and he’s probably right it was a while ago i started it
You’ve certainly fulfilled the brief WaS - lay in, book, pancakes and a run ! I hope you’ve also found time to put your feet up on your day off! Isn’t it lovely to see signs of spring at last - we’ve got quite a lot of blossom, which is gorgeous. I’ll think of you on Friday - I really hope the MRI goes well for you.
Ha 😀I remember one summer run (no sleeves ) seeing some clean looking tissue on the ground and briefly wondering if i should pick it up!! nope lol not that desperate, big sniff and run on, usually if I’ve forgotten tissue Willow has some but he’d driven home to put the kettle on
Love that you got that run in! It's one of the reasons I joined the forum, once I say I'm going for a run, I can't back out! (I completely forgot pancake day, probably just as well 😅)
It was lovely just to be out, and us, often i say i’ve got days off work here then honk i’d better run otherwise all th VRB’s will think i’m all talk, I’m tired though at the moment, it’s probably all the pain pills i’m taking so hopefully won’t last so didn’t get out today
