Little after work run

I don’t know where my enthusiasm has come from but i arrived home and said I wanted to run for a short faster run today, Willow said he didn’t think he was up for a run so I went on my own.

Music on, out the door, walk down the road, garmin latched on to GPS so off I ran, whoops, I realised I hadn’t walked for 5 mins so wasn’t warmed up, after a few minutes glanced at the watch and woah way too fast but the path meanders slightly upwards, slowed down and vaguely thought about the toxic 10 as it felt hard, then suddenly I found my pace, felt good, 1k done in a bit over 9 mins and on to the next.

Then luck was on my side…. the path widened and flattened and my legs stretched my arms pumped and for a minute or so I really felt like I was running, and it felt good. I’ve been at work all day so I didn’t have much energy so slowed to get comfortably to 2k then jeffed home half a kilometre, 2.65 k in 24 mins, not fast but not slow for me.

When I got home the chicken, bacon with cheese and mediterranean veg that i quickly shoved in the oven before leaving was almost cooked, the tea Willow made was cool enough to drink, life doesn’t get much better.

Happy Monday all

I think I ate way too much

Sounds perfect 😊. Your energy and enthusiasm has traveled south with you from Yorkshire, but you left some up here for me - I’m loving it!

It’s such a great place to be isn’t it? I’m trying to do short runs after work and go a bit faster then longer and slower after work

Good run for you today Sola, just shows how much you love running, to run any distance after a hard day's work proves you do have what they call "the running bug", well done 😀 🏃🏾

I planned it this morning thinking it would be good to get out I want to run more often but Willow is happy with what we do so i need to be organised and just take myself sometimes which means i get to explore roads i wouldn’t usually go along

There were a few spots as i drove home from work then a few drops on my shoulders as i walked out the door and no more until after i got home

By the sound of it you couldn't have timed that run any better. Arriving home to cooked food and tea cool enough to drink and that great post run feeling 👍👍

It’s great I struggle to run after work and when Willow said he didn’t think he was up to a run i took a deep breath and said did he mind if i went anyway? then quickly prepared dinner and shoved it in the oven, it’s a busy place i work and the ‘go tomorrow’ gremlins usually get me

Well done to both of you! You, for getting out on your own when you could have just given it a miss too, and to your husband for doing the necessary in the kitchen and freeing you up to run. Seems like a great 'Plan B' for when you don't run together.Team work gets results! Best wishes ☺️

It can be a challenge getting out after a busy day. We'll done! I think the trick is not to sit down. It's very impressive to organise supper first. I'm so glad it all went well.

You are quite right, I didn’t make it tonight, long day have walked nearly 10k steps at work and dinner was chicken korma which needed me to stay with and stir etc but day off tomorrow so run then
