I’ve been a bit lazy lately and not run for 11 days, work, christmas shopping, dog walks and can’t be botheredness but I’ve got 3 days off 😀 it’s not raining and there isn’t a howling gale.
I’ve wanted to go to a certain bridge cross the bridge and run from there, Willow hasn’t been that keen and when I mentioned it to Jo she suggested another part of the river, so I’ve been feeling a bit miffed and wondering if I should just go on my own.
And here we are, Saturday morning, 3 days off (oh did I already mention that?) and the weather is perfect, cloudy and still. so I voiced my wish to park by a certain bridge quite firmly explaining if it was too busy we don’t need to go again but very firmly saying I really wanted to try it there.
Plenty of places to park nearby 😀 walked across the bridge and turned left, dog walkers, bikes and runners going the other way, the pathway is wide enough for us all without having to dodge each other or having a bike come from behind so close and making us jump.
Willow went off in front for a while, everyone we saw coming the other way smiled and said hello.
Nice easy running, good calm breathing, step up the pace a bit, pass Willow at just under 1k knowing he would turn soon and head back, he was planning 2k and I was planning 30 minutes, my aim to run with no walking breaks.
Warming up nicely, feeling happy and relaxed, the pathway undulates a little but no steep ups or downs, it’s gravelly so I’m not sure I’d feel safe sprinting, but great for an easy run.
Turn at 2k no Willow in sight just me and my music, a few other people, is that a break in the clouds? yes a splash of blue sky if i look up, um 30 minutes ran, whoops I’ve a way to go to the bridge so run a bit walk a bit and cross the bridge to find Willow sitting in the car watching the world go by.
4.17k in 42 minutes including walking and stopping to take one photo. A most enjoyable run.
The best bit though is what Willow said when I got in the car, he said “that was great we’ll run here again and not even that busy on a saturday morning”
Garmin hates us both and added a year to each of our fitness ages but we don’t care 😀
Happy running, happy weekend
