And Willow came too 😀

Reluctantly I might add, and I’d done a bit of nagging which I’m not proud of, but I think he has to do something…..

I aimed for a 30 minute run and I wanted to cover 3k at least and as I drove home from work I thought stuff it. I can’t be bothered, then saw Willow had put loose trousers on and dug out his running shoes so I got changed.

We went to the river, it was really busy by the bridge as we walked across. I set off listening to Paul Simon, Willow chose no music.

I really enjoyed todays run, I ran for 1.5k turned, saw Willow and ran back trying to catch him up, it took me a while but I overtook him just before crossing the bridge back towards the car.

Done!

Splits 9.09, 9.05, and 8.56 now that never happened before

Run happy all and kudos to anyone racing

Congratulations to you Sola on those negative splits, that's great, now what about Willow as you put it "he has to do something", at least he got a short run, I hope he runs more with you from now on.

He’ll come out and run a steady half hour when i go out and hopefully find the joy in running again

Well done to both of you , negative splits as well 👏Sola. Good for you and your wee bit persuading to get Willow out, hopefully he will enjoy it and go back out again , even walking whilst you are running.

Thank you 😊 I’ve never run negative splits before so feel it’s an achievement even though not fast, Willow needs to do more than nothing so hopefully he will come out more often

Great run! You must have nailed the pace to get splits like that. Super well done to you both.

Considering i’d hit my goal steps by the time I left work, I was surprised I could run that well, I was running by effort rather than pace so was pleased

Getting a steps goal too is a great bonus !

Negative splits and Willow came too! Yeayayayayy.

Well done to you BOTH...we encourage and we persuade, and we do it from love..( ask my other half... he has had nearly 50 years of it, and it works the other way:)

Enjoy those shared runs when they come along , as well as your own lovely running:) x

Thank you Floss, I think I’ve been noticing the differences lately, I work full time, come home and run, he is retired and does very little and doesn’t have a lot of get up and go

Great run! And how lovely that Willow came too. Quality time together is so important.

Not sure he thought of it as quality time 🤪 but he enjoys the river and fresh air is good 😊 poor man I’m sometimes surprised he puts up with me

That’s such great news Sola! I bet you both felt accomplished after that. Hopefully he’ll want to accompany you again and has realised it is fun after all. 😀

He hasn’t got a choice cheekychipmunks, my nagging involved he’s got to do something so it’s run, swim, go to the gym or find someone to play babminton with, I’m a horrible mean woman but I won’t let him sit around all day and get old before me, retirement has slowed him down

That’s not mean Sola, that’s putting his health and well-being first. The fact it suits you too is an added bonus. 😀

A real bonus and I celebrated by buying myself some new running shoes, I’m bad 😂

WillowandSola are back (running)!!!!!!!

You must be a great negotiator to persuade him to restart ( of course, he may have been secretly missing his runs and you merely gave him an excuse to "change his mind". )I hope you both enjoy many more happy runs together.

Thank you, no negotiating in it, I just told him and he came with me 😂

Hard core Sola! After I retired I fractured my spine; so I could only sit around for months. I could feel myself ageing and losing mobility…so when I recovered I started C25k and the rest is history. If I have a long spell out with injury, it takes more time recover fitness than it used to. You are absolutely right; a bit of tough love going on here. 🙂

I’m glad you recovered enough to do what you do now because you are an inspiration. I love him dearly but worry as he mostly sits, and he’s a little younger than me too

He will know that you are doing your best for him. We all inspire each other 🙂. I joined a swimming class which I still go to and have just started Pilates ( rest of the class are girls!). All of these things keep us flexible and feeling better about ourselves; but you know that. Hope Willow finds his mojo soon.

You are so right, I think he will do, he seems to have forgiven me for nagging 😀
