Hi,

Firstly as a new graduate you would be well advised to follow a consolidation period for a few weeks and continue to run the 30 minutes you did on week 9 before pushing forward to 10k

Don't do too much too soon , it can easily cause injury .

Take a look at the consolidation club here.

After consolidation we do have this 10k training plan that a lot here use !

It is basically 2 stand alone plans .

You can either choose to do the time based plan to get you running for 60 minutes, or you can do the distance plan to get you to 10k .

It is a very popular plan, but please consolidate first !

Thank you, that sounds like a good plan.

Another vote for the Magic Plan, after consolidation.

Despite its name, C25K is actually a time-based app, not distance-based. The problem with creating an audio app to get to 10K is that everyone runs at a different pace.

You can, of course, use the free version of other apps such as Strava and Runkeeper to measure distance, and listen to whatever you want while running. Enjoy!

I asked the same question when I felt ready to start the step up to 10k. What I found was that I didn’t need the voice in my ear any more. I bought a running watch and learned about pace management which helped me to get up to 10k and also helped me to gradually increase pace over a number of runs. The outcome was an individually tailored programme used as part of the Magic Plan, a method which just led on naturally to 10 miles and HM. Of course you can choose your own limits; distance and pace. Lots of people listen to music as they run. In my case the sound of the countryside is enough. It is all an interesting voyage of discovery. I surprised myself; I hope that you do too. 🙂
