I'm Kate, I've recently completed C25k to get my fitness up after having my little girl back in December. I've really been enjoying running and now I've graduated I've been looking at what to do next, I've signed up for Shelters run throughout September to raise money to fight homelessness to keep up my motivation and I've had great fun so far I'm already a third of the way through my target so really pleased with that.
I'm hoping eventually to be able to run 10k so I'm looking forward to seeing how others go about achieving this, I'm also keen to increase my pace to achieve 5k within 30 minutes everytime, I achieved it on my graduation run but I'm now at 31 minutes on average so definitely want to shave that minute off permanently haha!
Hope everyone is enjoying running!

There are two plans: one is distance based to take you to 10km and the other is time based to take you to 60 minutes. You choose.
The usual advice is to do a few more 5km runs first before starting on the Magic Plan.
Don't worry about the speed for now. When you've got some distance under your legs it'll come back naturally.
Another thing you might be interested in doing is parkrun. It's a free 5km event held every Saturday morning at 9am, with venues all over the world. parkrun.org.uk/
Hi Kate and welcome across the bridge, wow what a year you’ve had, a lovely baby girl, achieving sun 30min 5k and now raising money for Shelter, an inspiration. Do have a look at the 10k plan it’s great. Happy running 🤗
I also recommend Ju Ju's magic plan for getting to 10k. As I'm much slower, I have been following the time based plan and I'm now up to 60 mins, but I would say that my 5k times have come down a bit just by virtue of running longer distances (and probably cumulative time on my feet?). So if you're going to aim for 10k anyway, that's probably enough to get your 5k time down by a minute without doing anything extra.
