Ran a slightly pathetic and sluggish 3.5K earlier this week so wasn't feeling confident about today's 5K. However, I ended up running my fastest 5K to date, and feeling much stronger than I did on the shorter run. Ain't this a funny business? Now I'm not feeling so apprehensive about the 7K I'm due to do on Sunday.
Hope everyone is enjoying their running - I love this cold weather! ππββοΈπ

Thanks ju-ju! I'm enjoying this challenge, even though it looks a bit daunting. As with C25K, it's easy to look ahead several weeks and think, I can't do that, rather than just focussing on the next run! Will let you know how I get on. πππ€
Thank you so much - this is really inspiring me to do the 7K on Sunday! I stopped posting after graduating C25K, and so I'd forgotten how the support of other runners makes so much difference to ones attitude and confidence. I really appreciate the support. And will be posting the result, whether good or bad! ππ€
I had some iffy shorter runs in the build up to 10k. I decided not to worry about them. On the plan I just saw them as preparation for the long run each week and "performance" over the shorter distances didn't matter at all. I am a master of rationalisation though π
You're so right! I wasn't so worried about speed on the short run - it just felt hard, and therefore I thought the longer runs would be hard too. But the 5K went really well so am feeling better about tomorrow's 7K (gulp!). ππ
