Not bad considering that when I started C25K I had no intentions of running more than the 5k and even that seemed out of reach. I did it though and started adding on a wee bit here and a wee bit there until last week when I was just short of 9k on my 60 mint run. so I decided to go for it this morning and it wasn't anywhere near as hard as I'd convinced myself it would be. I did set off slower and tried to maintain a slower pace than my usual runs
I'm really pleased with this mornings run, now back to aiming for the 5k in 30 minutes (my best is 31.19)
Well done thatβs a great run for your 1st 10k, cracking pace. Hopefully the longer runs will be building strength allowing you to work towards your sub 30min 5k. Happy running π€
Similar here, I joke that 3 years ago I got out of breath running a bath but thatβs not far short of the truth! Now 18 months on from starting C25k, I regularly do a mixture of 5k and 10k runs, my 5k time is consistently under 27 minutes and 10k in around 57-58. Keep going and the times will tumble!
Congratulations on completing your first 10K in a very good time of 1:07:09, to get your graduation badge and the word GRADUATE10 next to your username follow the link of Grannyhugs, now go and celebrate your wonderful achievement ππΎ π π
Fantastic running, congratulations! Thatβs what running πββοΈ does! I was going to stop at 5k & Iβve just done a half marathon! Happy running, you will get to 5k in 30 minutes.π
That's excellent! You inspire me - I've never run more than 5k but secretly would like to go 10k. I'll have to start adding on some wee bits here and there! Well done!
Thank you. It's good to know that what I'm doing is inspiring someone else. I do the NRC guided runs which I've found really useful. It's little things like running 20 minutes one day and trying 22 on the next run. Gradually building on it. Go for it! You won't know unless you try π
Great to get that 1st 10K in the bag. We'll done and a great time π
Congratulations! Wow! Iβm close to 5k now but itβs still a bit of way out, I really would like to get to 10k one day! How long have you been running?

I started C25K on January 3rd this year and Graduated in March. Prior to that I hadn't run since school which I left in 1968
My consolidation runs (3 a week) were usually the first 2 NRC runs and another short one and I just gradually built up.
My first 5k was 28th March and my time was 35 minutes. I've been knocking seconds off ever since with the dream of getting 30 or under by my 70th birthday which is now just 12 days away. My best so far is 31m 19s. But, even if it doesn't happen by September 11th, it will happen!
Good luck with getting to 5k, it's nearer than you imagine x
