Gorgeous evening for a run, and for making memories.....
Well, we are into week 6 of my daughter Dabby-dot's C25k journey ๐. She ran a great 20 minute run to round off week 5, finishing with a huge grin on her face and a similarly huge sense of achievement.
That buzz has carried her into week 6 with a spring in her step for run 1 - her pace has picked up and she is taking longer strides, all of her own doing, and feeling wonderful for it. I am shorter than my daughter and it feels like I am suddenly running alongside Bambi, soon to emerge into a gazelle if she keeps this up! ๐ฆ
Way to go Dabby-dot!
I've got lovely photos to go with this post but they won't upload - shall keep trying ....
There have been problems with uploading photos on Healthunlocked, they will get the photos to be shown as soon as possible.
Congratulations to Dabby dot on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K.
Onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but warn her that run has caught some runners out with its return to walking and running, but I am sure that it won't cause dabby any problems whatsoever.
Thanks Al, for the support and info re photos. It was such a beautiful evening I kept pausing to take pics, then picked up my pace to catch up with my daughter. She did W6R1 this evening and smashed it! The next run she will do with my sister whilst she is visiting Cheshire and then the final run of week 6 in Scotland ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ ๐ visiting Gran & Grandpa ๐.
Well done to your daughter, sheโll be running at her own long legged speed soon. Thereโs a problem with photos in posts that they are working on, just pop it in a reply. Happy running ๐ค
Thanks GH! I shall switch back to my laptop and do that. I wonder why you canโt add or view photos in the replies via the app yet? Itโs a bit annoyingโฆ.
I'm afraid there aren't going to be any updates to the app, you will need to switch to the website - you can add a shortcut to it on your device home screen though!
How wonderfulโฆI am way behind but so lovely to see the โDotsโ joining up. The run looks amazing and it must be so fun to do this together. Happy running.
I enjoy reading your posts about running with your daughter ๐. My 15 year old son is (re) doing c25k for his DofE - he is also running week 6. I wish I could say that he finishes his runs with a sweet smile on his face, but no such luck. We went out together at 7am this morning, then I carried on to 5k after he finished - when I got home he was back in bed, still with his running kit on, and the tragi-comic air of extreme sufferance that only a teenager can master ๐. I fear it will be a while yet before he resembles a gazelle, let alone sweet Bambi ๐Enjoy your precious runs together!
Congratulations to both the Delly-Ds !๐ And from one of your replies above I see that she'll get to run with other members of your family on different routes, what a great way to complete her C25K journey.
