Mother-daughter moment

My daughter Dabby-dot did her first run of week 4 today, after a week off running 😳 ! Despite our best efforts, circumstances kept conspiring against us both going out together. “It’s no use. You’re going to have to go solo”, I suggested…. “Oh, but I like it because we run together,“ she said. Not much a mother can say in reply to that, especially when I am on the count down to her disappearing off to start Uni next month 😢. Oh, that’ll be a real fledgling moment….. 😣 (for me, she’ll be fine).

Anyhow, we ran together and it was lovely. Sun shining, perhaps a tad too warm as we couldn’t run first thing, but very pleasant nonetheless. Roll on week 4…. And perhaps an extra loop for me, just to remind my legs that there’s more miles in them 😉.

Happy running all 😊 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️

I wish your daughter all the best on starting university next month, that was a good run for you and Dabby dot today, yes she likes running with mom, I hope she can complete C25K before she go's to uni.

We should do it Al, as long as we stay on schedule from now on! 😉

I saw Dabby-dot’s post on C25K site earlier so she’s definitely learning to go solo! Good luck to both dots!

Running with our offspring is just so lovely. I’d hoped my son would come with me this morning but he’s been a bit off colour since his Covid jab so I had to run alone. It’s tough when they go away to uni but you’ll settle into the new routine, then before you know it your daughter will be back for Christmas!

All being well, your daughter should graduate couchto5k just before she fledges to Uni then? With added confidence to try lots of new fun experiences there hopefully.. sounds like you’ve had such fun together that she will be home regularly.. or at least at Christmas.. to run with you again.. giving you both a good reason to keep running, and keep smiling, as IannodaTruffe always says.. 😊
