Those longer runs are beginning to feel just that little bit closer..... β˜ΊοΈπŸ’πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸŒ³

The overnight rain and the humid air added a heavy stillness to this morning's run through the woods. Despite the damp, it didn't make it feel any cooler and it was a very sticky run.

Today's run was Dabby-dot's second of week 8. All in, we covered 4.34k in the 38 minutes. Just 4 more runs to go! If everything goes to plan she will run her graduation run the day before she heads off to uni.

I am mixing things up for her this week, taking her down different tracks so that each run has something new. Today we crossed over the little single track road that splits the woodland to run in an area that she has only walked before. It's also a while since I have been that way. Crossing the road and running on the other side always heralds a longer run for me as that's where I can chop and change direction on all the different tracks to make up a range of longer routes. Just heading over there today felt like I had opened the door to the longer runs I have been dreaming of reclaiming for such a long time. It was almost like metaphorically crossing the bridge towards 10k again.

πŸ˜ŠπŸŒ³πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ Happy running all.

Great run for you and your daughter, next run is another 28 minute one, perhaps on a different course as you say you like running on different routes, onwards and upwards for Dabby dot. 😊 πŸƒπŸΎ

That's fabby DD - lots of us waiting and cheering you on from the bridge. Let's hope Dabby keeps on once she heads to uni as well.

Thank you FM! I'm hoping she keeps it up too - the local ParkRun is right next to her halls of residence, so not far to roll out of bed on a Saturday morning..... However, I am realistic...... 🀣

What a great idea introducing all these new runs for the end of her c25k journey, well done both of you getting this far together. Enjoy your last few runs before she heads off. Happy running πŸ€—

What a great way to head into the longer runs Dellydot. You’ll know the training has worked if Dabbydot packs her trainers first before heading off to uni! Huge well done on her progress!

Wonderful to see! I am back on IC with dislocated knee after crawling around with grandchild! Hope the last few runs go like the breeze!

Oh ouch 😣 Timotea! That sounds painful 😞. How long will that take to heal? Xx

Thanks DD. A few weeks. I can hobble around and am playing golf. Physio says to keep moving. I guess it’s back to the beginning of C25K! Well done you for getting through it twice. 😍

This is really my third (almost) time. On my first attempt in 2019, I completed W9R1 with an injury that put me out of action for 6 months. I’m no stranger to the IC πŸ™„πŸ˜‰, so I completely understand how anyone one on it feels. Enjoy your golf though - that sounds a very nice way to keep yourself moving πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸΌ.

🀞 for Dabbys graduation before she even gets to university! 😊 It's great how we all have little landmarks that's herald the way to longer runs. You are both doing brilliantly πŸ‘ Really sticky weather in Scotland today's as well

It sounds like you and your daughter have had a great journey through her c25k. I imagine it will be really tough when your new running buddy disappears to uni. But you can console yourself with the thought that you've helped her to step onto that running path that so many of us have enjoyed for so many years.

That’s so great for both of you, hopefully cooler in the woods, it’s still warm

Just hope she carries on running at Uni (not just running last orders).

....running FOR last orders - I must check my writing before sending it in/posting - Dabby Dot can have that advice for free!
