Hooray! A drama-free run with the dog (and daughter!) ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ• ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿพ

On Monday morning my daughter Dabby-dot and I were left feeling quite guilty when we ran the final run of week 4 on her C25K journey. Every other runner we met was running with their dogs and having a wonderful time. We had left our pooch at home on the promise of a walk on our return. We havenโ€™t run often with Isla lately as she has been rather a hindrance - think impromptu hurdling and being suddenly pulled in the opposite direction โ€ฆโ€ฆ not to mention the inevitable running with the doggy-do-bag scenario โ€ฆ.. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

This morning we were all laced up and ready to make a start on Dabby-dotโ€™s week 5. The front door was closed behind us, then a little furry face appeared at the window with a โ€œplease take me with youโ€ speech bubble above her head, and the guilt set in.

โ€œWhat do you think?โ€ I asked my daughter. โ€œShall we give her another go?โ€ At this point my daughter grimaced, the memory of a previous run playing through her mind. But, we decided to go for it.

Moments later we were heading off with a very excited dog in tow, (โ€˜though, to say I was really the one who was being towed is more accurate ๐Ÿ˜‰). Well! We had a great run, with one very happy and obedient pooch, a chuffed to bits daughter and a very relieved mum - who had managed to juggle all necessary pieces of equipment without any problem.

Isla redeemed herself today and my daughter made a confident start to week 5, ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿพ so we will definitely do a doggy run again. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Haha! Isla has lulled you into a false sense of security... It's the oldest trick in the book!! ๐Ÿถ Glad you had a lovely run with no mishaps & great for your daughter to get to W5, but BEWARE of the pooch's evil plans...

Well done Delly-dot. I'm just introducing Pitta to the idea of running with me. She's come on a couple of short runs that are away from roads as she's still only 7 months old. It's so hard to leave them at home when they give you that pleading look. I'm glad it went well.

Nice run with the dog and your daughter, Holly the dog, my neighbours does not like running, I did try a 5 minute run with her about a year ago, but it was all stop/go, pulling and stops, so certainly I won't be going a parkrun with Holly.

Ahhh, what a lovely sounding run and so special to be able to join your daughter on her C25K journey. I would love to be able to run with a dog for company, I'm not so good at running with people but think a dog could be a perfect running companion. I only have cats though and not sure that would work!! ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ผ
