Conqueror Challenge Kilimanjaro - check!

Hiya,

I thought to run 20 minutes today to give my calve still some slack. But that was not taking into account my stubborness. 30 minutes it became, I just wanted to finish my challenge so much!

I also added some fartleks and combined with some rain it gave me a fastest mile and a fastest kilometer. In 30 minutes I did 3,63 km, which is indeed a longer distance than I normally do in 30 minutes.

So my Conqueror challenge Mount Kilimanjaro is finished! So proud of myself and now I can start waiting for my bling! I also decided to do next the shorter distances of Conqueror so I can fill my medal-box a bit and when I have done all the challenges below Kilimanjaro, I'll continue with the longer distances coming behind Kilimanjaro.

Oh right, my calve was a good little boy and did not give a peep. So me happy. I also ordered a foam roller, both for the calve and my nasty piriformis.

Cheers, Evy

Well done Evy, that’s brilliant. And you get bling! Foam rollers are fantastic, I swear by them, I have a smooth one and a knobbly one which is hard going sometimes but it really helps. All the best 😊🏃‍♀️👏🏼👍🦶🎉

Thanks! I ordered a knobbly one as I saw those being used on internet most. So I thought it might be better. I might find it too painfull though. I'll know on Monday!

Nice one ! Well done 😁Oh, I have just got a foam roller, came yesterday but haven't used it yet !

Good luck with the future challenges 👍

Welcome to the foam roller club. I got a pair (knobbly and smooth) on Thursday.

I ordered one (should arrive on Monday) because I saw/read about you and Instructor buying one. I bought a knobbly one because I saw that one being promoted the most. Don't know if it won't be too painfull for me though...

It all depends on how much weight you bear onto it.

in reply tonowster

I guess I better not put my full weight on it at first. Tried my calve with a can of deo this morning. Ankles crossed and full weight on my calve. Thought my calve was dying!

Woohooo!!! Kilimanjaro looks great! And yey! Another foam roller fan! Enjoy!

in reply toCBDB

Still has to arrive, so don't know yet about being a fan. Might find it too painfull! 😜

😂😂 You probably have seen this roller workout healthunlocked.com/strength...

It’s a good one!

in reply toCBDB

Had not seen it yet, will keep it in mind. But the side part might be too much for me. People can't even tickle me because it hurts me instead of feeling ticklish. Yeah, I am weird 😁

Well done Evy glad your calf didn’t play up. Have got a foam roller but I think too big it’s a smooth. Is a knobbly one better for piriformis or smooth👏?

in reply toDoris8

I honestly don't know. I bought a knobbly one (medium hardness) because that was what I saw when looking them up. But I don't know if it won't be too painfull for me. I am rather sensitive, haha. It should arrive on Monday, very curious...

See what u mean about the knobbly one probably hurt botty suppose that’s what it’s meant to be 🤣

in reply toDoris8

Me and pain are not the best friends. But I guess I can also put less weight on it and start of easy.

Congratulations blackscorpion, that's an amazing feat, climbing Kilimanjaro was one of my aims when I was younger, too old and lazy to do it now.

in reply toRubywednesday

It is not real, just in case you would think so. It is a challenge of running 97 km in a time you set yourself wherever you want. You get virtual postcards with information of where you virtually are. And when you reach the chosen distance, you get a medal. This time it was the Kilimanjaro challenge, next time maybe Gizeh, I don't know yet.

So you can do it too, get information about the tracks and such on Kilimanjaro. 😉

Not what you're looking for?
