Last Saturday I ran for the first time 10 km as you can read about in my previous post. Since then I have not ran due to the hot weather. I decided to spare myself and I will run again when the weather is better. I hope that will be soon though and that I won't have lost (too much) fitness. But if needed, I'll just have to build up things again.
That said, I after my 10K I treated myself to a 10K medal from VirtueelNL (see pic). It's a heavy piece of bling, but so nice. Only a pity that they could not engrave it with the date and time run (this is because the medal has structure). But that is another bling in my medal box! I now have 4 blings in my medal box: my first 5K, my first 60 minutes, Conqueror Kilimanjaro and my first 10K. I still have one underway from the Conqueror English Channel too.
Call me an idiot for collecting medals I give myself, but I think it's fun...
Iβm also massively into medals, especially the conqueror ones as they are really good quality. And you deserve a medal for your 10k, well done ππ»
I'm obsessed with them to be honest, I've done 4 so far and am working on two more (although they will be a while as I have 202 miles left on one and 718 left on the other π±)
Great medal π I've only got two, both for vv10000 events but they make me feel proud when I look at them π I'll just ignore my mum who was super impressed because she thought I'd run 10000k, not so much when she realised it was 10k π€£π€£
Not even the treadmill, I am really not made for this weather. I don't sleep enough, can't seem to get enough air in my lungs and I just wait for better weather...
New Zealand (Conqueror Challenges, although not sure where they source their medals from. I think I looked it up at some point and saw they were actually made in New Zealand but not sure)
That's a super medal, and really shows what a great achievement running 10 KM is. I wasn't into medals before lockdown, but as things are I think it's important to give ourselves little treats. I've been doing lots of virtual races and have a very respectable collection of medals now.
