Feeling hot hot hot...

Hiya,

Work was done at 3:30 pm, so I changed in running gear, shorts, thin shirt and cap. Smeared some factor 100+ on my face, factor 50+ on neck, arms and legs and out I went.

Forget the toxic 10, I had the toxic and hot 30. I had put on NRC 'just another run' with coach Bennett. Kinda freaky though, he said something about why was I running at 3 pm, had I not listened to him in 'a hot run'? Eh, spooky? Is it for real that those talks get personalized or was it just plain coïncidence?

Anyhow, my body felt sluggish, putting one foot before the other seemed to take a massive effort. 25 degrees in the shade and not a lot of shade being out there on my route. My breathing was parts erratic and parts laboured. The guided run took 35 minutes, but at 30 minutes I stopped my run, it was enough.

Not a good run, but it was a run. My mother said afterwards that since I am doing the Conqueror challenge Giza, it is normal it is hot 😹.

Cheers, Evy

I congratulate you for running at that time of day in a temperature of 25C/77F, I think you should have waited until late evening when it's not just as hot, better still run at dawn, nevertheless congratulations on completing that run

Thanks and I know you ought to run at daybreak or sunset. But I am too damn lazy to get up earlier (I now get up at 6 to get ready for work). And evening is wind down time before tv, in that I am too damn idiotic, haha. Old habits die hard or something alike 😂

I certainly wouldn't have been out when the temp was 25°C! I would have stopped too. In fact I did yesterday.

I stopped after 30 minutes too. I was just hoping it would be a run like my last run. It was 25 degrees too then, but clouded and it was a good run despite the temperature. Alass not all runs are the same as today proved.

You did well to run in that temperature !It would have to be early morning for me !

in reply toInstructor57

I wish I had the courage to go out in the morning. But I can't get up at 5 😔

Put your kit out at the far side of the bedroom with your alarm ontop of it , Soon as it goes off, get up and put your kit on 🤣

And yes, I HAVE actually done this 😁

😹

You don't need sleep then? I go to sleep at 10 pm and get up at 6 am. I could go to sleep at 9 pm, but that sounds really early...

Hmm ..I guess if you already have to be up at 6 then much earlier would be tricky 😐

Well done in that heat, I remember 3 of my c25k runs were in that heat in Mallorca. I ran with a bottle of water which I poured over my head🤣 happy running 🤗

Well done on getting out in the heat instead of the treadmill. Yes hot for running at those temperatures. I’m like Instructor 57 like to go early morning but don’t think partner would be too happy about alarm going off other side of the room and waking him up🤣.clothes are in other room and put on there for my walks. I can see the predicament you are in when you have to get up early for work anyway. 👏😀

in reply toDoris8

Thanks and yeah I am kinda lazy 😁

Hi Evy, it was a good run because you ran!!! Well done 👍. It’s nearly the weekend so hopefully you can run earlier on Saturday or Sunday, and avoid the heat. All the best! 👍🏃‍♀️😊👏🏼

Would like to do a long run this weekend. But can't run a long run before breakfast. And have to wait 2 hours after a meal before I can run. So kinda afraid about it... I am SO difficult! 😹
