Post run cuppa - Part II

6.20am alarm ⏰

Him: Are we definitely running today ?

Me: Yep

Him: Give me 10 minutes ⏳

The responsibility of being in charge of tech was weighing heavily - I checked and double checked keys ✅ Garmin ✅ phone ✅ C25k app ready to go ✅ 6.45am all present and correct and out the door we go.

I planned a nice little loop round the marina and a finish along the sea front.

Warm up complete, time for first run ... and there he was - gone. 🚀Not bad for someone who can’t run.

Before long he realised I wasn’t along side him anymore 🤣 so he slowed down. 🐌 Meanwhile I was trying to think how this was going to work.🤔

We kept going and by about the 4th repeat we’d adopted the system of me clapping twice at the change overs.👏👏

This system will work for W1&2 but I think I’m going to need a hooter or bell by W3. 🛎 😂

Completed the runs and started our warm down walk.

Him: Is that it then ?

Me: *!**!**

Home by 7.25am ... and the post run cuppa ?

Well not exactly the Japanese tea ceremony but I do like a nice pot of tea made with leaves and OH duly obliged 🫖

I feel great to have started this again and I’m super proud of OH ... after all - he’s always made a lovely pot of tea 😉

😄🤣👏👍🏽 love reading your explorations! And I can relate! And a nice cup of tea is a must, always and any time! 👏👏

Thank you. Tea always does the trick for me 👍Considering roughly this time last year I thought I was going to pass out after the first run I think repeating the programme is a timely reminder to me of how far I’ve come - why do we forget our achievements so easily 🤔

That’s so funny, is that it then? had me giggling 🤭 and here we are building up steadily and off runs the OH with ease At least he still makes a great cuppa and you went together

Giggling now but a few expletives at the time 🤭He’s made a grand start - the only worry today was nearly “losing” his track bottoms - if he carries on after W3, I may treat him to new ones.

You’ll make him wait that long? we had some tricky runs pulling our joggers up, i wear leggings now that are too tight so they stay put

It’s enough I’ve got him out there - I’ve got no chance of getting him in leggings 😁 It’s his birthday next week so maybe you’re right - I’ll get him some braces 😉

Colin got some lovely shorts from his son for his birthday, they are like short leggings with the usual type baggy shorts over the top and stay in place, braces sound good though if they hold the bottoms us 😀

🤔😂 Made me smile

Brilliant!🤣 I was looking forward to reading how you and your OH got on today for your first duo run. I think you might have to invest in an old car type hooter if he carries on like this.

Thanks D-D. It was very enjoyable but not quite the sociable run I’d imagined. I think you’re right - old taxi horn might be the answer 🙂

Ah, my husband runs away from me too so I know how you feel! 😉😆

Ha ha, I think you will be running separately by week 3, can't wait to hear how it goes :)

I will post again in a few weeks to give an update. Meanwhile, I need to order some new jogging bottoms - he nearly lost his on this first run 🤭

And that's only on week 1! Are you taking bets on how long it will take to get him into running tights? :)

Wow, well done to both of you. I do hope he keeps going; going slow and steady is not easy when you're starting off.I think its lovely that you can do this together - and that he makes you a nice pot of tea at the end.

Thanks - Lifluf - a genuine milestone for us ... well 3k anyway 😁I know I’m super slow but it won’t do him any harm in these first few runs.

I will post again in a couple of weeks to give an update for anyone interested.

Loving the bonus bevy at the end - hope he sticks to that too 😉

3k is a good starting point. Looking forward to hearing how you both progress.
