Him: Because I can’t run - never have been able to - not interested but you go and enjoy yourself.
After 40 years of marriage I knew that was it - he was not to be persuaded 🙄
Over the last 3 months, I’ve hopped on and off the IC, never really felt comfortable on runs and I’ve gradually got a bit low and a bit fed up generally.
Over the weekend I made a decision to start over - that’s C25k not marriage 🤣
I told OH I would start again this Wednesday (tomorrow) and in his always supportive way wished me luck and said he would have tea ready for when I get back.
I started getting all my gear ready at lunchtime today and conversation went like this
Him: When are we starting this then ?
Me: Tomorrow morning before work
Him: So will you get my gear ready too ?
Me : 🤨
Him: I’m serious - I’ve changed my mind ... as long as you listen to all the instructions - I don’t want to listen to anything except you !
So maybe I don’t know him that well after all 😉
Wish us luck as we embark on C25k together 🏃♀️🏃🏻♂️🤞

Wowsa! Love your post! And wishing you happy couple experiences of running!!! Running has certainly given me and hubby a shared hobby, which we both are enjoying (but I think, me more than him) 👏👏👏👏💪🏃🏽♀️🏃🏻
We never played nicely together with golf a few years ago. 😁I hope this will be a more enjoyable shared hobby. He’s quite a strong, fast walker so I’m guessing his walking speed will be my running speed. I’m going to need to exercise my vocal chords too to shout the instructions as he disappears into the distance 🤣
Bet you never read my first, he is such a gentle laid back guy but he got really grumpy and when i said i’d go on my own he wasn’t having it, he said he’d drive me but wasn’t running, but he quickly became as enthusiastic as me and we love going together, I’ll be pleased when he’s over his cold
🤣Oh good luck! I am so looking forward to reading your post tomorrow after your first run with your OH. It promises to be very entertaining 😉
Thank you - don’t want to bore people with a run by run account but will certainly let my buddies here know how W1R1 goes. Signs are good so far as we’ve agreed on a time to go ... 6.45am. Think I’ll need long sleeves in the morning - brrrr
I think this is brilliant 61Lady! Sorry to hear that you’ve been a bit low recently but a fresh start sounds just what you need. You can issue the orders to your OH as you go, then he gets to make the post run beverage when you’re finished! A win win for you I think!! Enjoy C25K v.2!
Thank you - already feeling a bit more upbeat and we haven’t even started yet 👍6.45am start so should be supping my tea at around 7.30 - I’ll need it after all the shouting I’ll be doing 😀
That's quite an accomplishment 61Lady, firstly you've obviously impressed your OT and, secondly, you've got him listening to you and doing exactly what you've suggested - sounds like happy days are ahead in more ways than one.Best wishes ☺️
