A near naked run!!

Before anyone gets excited the photo and the run aren’t connected in any way at all, I just couldn’t be bothered to take another wet grey photo so looked back on my year and i like this one.

Back to the near naked run. yesterday evening I was mulling over what I’d run in the morning, Saturday 3k Sunday 2k Monday 5k….. hmm 🤔 I know!! I’ll do a NRC run, so I scrolled through the guided runs oooo 40 minute tempo run, read through it…. that looks good, download, go to sleep looking forward to my last day off and last run.

This morning, check playlists pick one, set the run up ready and off we go… To the River!! it’s blowing a hooley and pelting it down… Willow is running today,

Um as we start to get out the car I realise I’ve left my ear buds at home!!

Willow suggests we go back and get them it’s only 5 minutes away but I’m ready to run, we walk across the bridge, turn left and off we go… the other benefit of ear buds is they shut the wind and rain out of your ears, this isn’t very nice, I’m plodding along behind Willow as he always sets off faster than me but half a k in I’ve caught up and overtaken him, it’s quiet, I think about singing but only know the first couple of lines of most songs, 1k buzzes in the watch…. 8 seconds slower than the first k yesterday but hey that wind is fierce today, so I turn, pass Willow just as he gets to 1k cheers and turns I run on, i’m warm enough and my neck is warm in a buff but my ears are starting to complain so i pull the buff up and turn it into an ear protecting headband 😀

This is better going slower but hey who cares? not me, almost back to the bridge and 2k buzzes, stop the watch, turn and run back to Willow, he’s not far behind turn again and run back to the bridge, walk sedately across, back in the car inside 20 minutes, home, tea toast marmite cheese 🧀 and run a very hot bath, Willows turn first so write a post

Lovely photo regardless of when it was taken! I can’t believe how well you’re doing these days - left me behind by miles! And running every day too when you can, woohoo! I’m determined the physio will let me start running again in the new year (he doesn’t know it yet!) - can’t wait to be trotting along my seafront again! Have a good new year!

Ha! I so identified with your photo dilemma. Yesterday I just couldn’t be bothered to snap yet another blank grey sky (and I usually take at least one photo for each run). So pleased with your choice and reminder of cheerier weather. 😊

Nice run for you, lovely photo as well although it was taken earlier in the year, December in most parts of the UK as been very cloudy and dull with little sunshine so it is nice to see a photo like that taken in sunshine, I wish you both a happy running New Year in 2022.

During the winter months I'll not be running any more than 5K runs, either at parkrun or locally, come Spring I'll gradually increase my distance to at least 10K, I hope once again to run the Virtual London 10,000, which will be in early May.

Too bad about the missing earbuds, certainly if you were looking forward to the guided run. I prefer to run without music or anything though, just let my mind wander around.

It’s nice to just run but i did plan that one, but i still enjoyed going out
