Day one starts with a run

Well the day started hours ago but hmm, we didn’t get going early, it’s really warm and the sun is shining, out we went, what was that? spots of rain??? blue sky and sunshine and cool spots dripping down on us.

It’s got to be the industrial estate, the road leading to our park is lined with cars......

5 minute walk, NRC 25 minute run started to include the walk, there is purpose to these short runs, I want to run every day this bank holiday weekend and if we go too long Willow won’t want to tomorrow!

The path is uneven, the air hot, this is just what I love most, sun beating down on me and toddling along at an easy run pace, a few of the factories etc seem to be open on Saturdays lots of parked cars, not enough room on the pavement to run side by side so I dip down onto the road and immediately feel better, smoother, flatter, no up and down curbs.

The spits and spots of rain have stopped. Feeling good, nice even breathing, take a few deep breaths, stretch neck, shoulders, spine, yup enjoying this. Willow has dropped back a bit so I take a left turn and run along and back so I can tuck in behind him for the finish, I mistimed it some so by the time I got to the car he was in there playing with buttons and removing the roof.

Home for a stretch and coffee, nothing remarkable about the run apart from the fact we got out there and did it 😀

Enjoy the rest of Saturday, the photo is another from yesterday’s walk, we are planning to head for the downs this evening

It sounds like you both had a great time, reading this makes me want to get out there but it's too hot for me at the moment. Perhaps I'll try an evening run . Good luck running every day 😊

Thanks, I can run every day if we keep it short, Willow hasn’t tried before so we’ll see, Enjoy an evening run, we just love the heat but evening cooler walk is lovely

Sounds perfect! I had a spot of rain this morning out of an almost perfectly blue sky too. Very strange. So glad you enjoyed it, I hope the rest of your weekend’s runs are the same. 🏃‍♀️😊👏🏼

Great start to your 3 days of running I hope you have a great weekend. There’s something refreshing about deciding on consecutive runs - no decision required, each day is a run day. Happy running 🤗

Wow that’s great Al, I want to keep the runs short this weekend but if we both do a bit faster we can do 5k between us for the COGH challenge

AlMorr profile image

I think the very last day of COGH is Monday, might actually be Sunday, they have asked us to run🏃🏾or walk🚶‍♂️a final 5K.👍

Yes, I’ve set mine up for tomorrow, i was thinking we might run two and a half each but i want to run 5k and Willow will probably run for about 20 minutes

But we are going for a walk this evening so i will think about what to do

Great detail run. The really hot weather hasn’t come to southern Scotland yet but hopefully tomorrow a bit humid today. You seem to like running in the heat . Prefer the colder weather or early morning. Early morning walk for me again . Enjoy the rest of your bank holiday 😊

Thanks, the trouble with early mornings is I get up very early for work 5 days a week so on days off it’s nice to not rush up and out the door
