Another 30 minutes done...

Hiya,

After my previous 30 minute run on Friday with the groin pain, I had decided to forego my long run this weekend and to take 2 days rest. And I just now went for another 30 minute run.

I did a couple of static stretches before the run, not much though. I have to look into what to do for a short but proper warm-up. Anyhow, maybe the stretches helped or my groin was fully healed, but I am happy to report there was not even a niggle!

I had a very good run, no toxic 5 or 10. A little bit of strain on the knees, but nothing to worry about. The weather even kept me dry. It was darkening with cloud full of rain, but they kept their rain for after I was back inside. Just had a few single drops hit me. And 4 people even greeted me (back) of which 3 with a dog.

So that is another 3,42 km dusted and done and added to COGH as well as to my Kilimanjaro challenge. And another tree planted as I am on 60%. Will have to catch up a bit though, because due to not being able to run for 2 weeks, I am cutting it sharp with my Kilimanjaro challenge.

Cheers, Evy

Good to hear your run was niggle free also ! 👍But, static stretches before a run ? 🤔

in reply to Instructor57

I thought it is static stretches as warm-up and dynamic stretches as cooling-down? Static because the muscles are not warm yet and need to be stretched slowly and carefully?

The other way around.

Dynamic to warm up. And static after the run 🙂 !runnersworld.com/health-inj...

Ah... well with the speed I was going through them (holding only for max 5 secs), you can probably count them as dynamic 😂. Will look-up some dynamics I can remember easily.
