Another hilly 5k

Met up with a friend yesterday to tackle Arthur's Seat again. This time we gabbled away the steepest part of the hill and then went at our own pace after that. I did another spot of Jeffing to get to the top and then enjoyed the downward canter.

We met up at the end and had a great chat huddled against a wall out of the cold wind, sat on my camping chairs. Ah the lockdown life and small pleasures!

Despite walking a lot more of the hill I was one minute faster!

Yes not too pleasant going up - but I'm so crap on hills I figure it must do me some good...

Fiona, it’s UPHILL, what do you expect? I’d be v happy with that!

Lovely Fionamags, especially the canter downhill bit and of course sharing it with a friend 🤗

Yes I love going downhill - used to be a bit of a speed demon on my bike on the downhills as well. Equally as challenged on the up though...

Fortunately, for every uphill, there’s a downhill on the other side 😊. Sounds like you enjoyed your jeffing and your canter. Happy running 🏃🏼‍♀️

Sounds like a lovely run with your friend. At least it has stopped raining, just very windy here today in Ayrshire.

That will be those windmills going great guns then. Lovely day here but still cold.

Well done again Fionamags you like your hills especially steep hill. Did you up the right hand side from Hollyrood or up past the waterside of the hill. When I ran went up the water side of hill👏🤗

Started from Holyrood car park and turned left - with the duck pond on the right then up, up, up!! Same direction as the 5 and 10k events. Is that what you meant?

Sounds a great run. It's so weird how we can be faster when we walk more....Lovely to be able to run with a friend

Yes totally - being able to have a wee catch up is brilliant. But this whole Jeffing thing is quite amazing, isn't it????

It is brilliant and give you built in time to wipe your nose properly 🤣Have you noticed any difference in your cadence? Mine is much more in the green than when I just ran.
