My colleague took me running round Lyme Park. I’d been looking forward to/dreading this run for a few weeks now.
It has been pouring down for days now. It was flooding in places a couple of days ago, it poured down yesterday, it rained all morning...
...then come 1:30pm we finished work, the rain stopped, the sun even shone for approx 3 seconds, and off we went. (How jammy are we!? That happened last time when we did my first 10km together).
I’d been told 4 hills. Well I didn’t manage to count them but standing on the top of one hill looking over to the other hills we were going to run to, complete with valleys in between I was impressed. I didn’t run up all the hills, one was too rough and stoney, but the rest my legs just aren’t strong enough yet. But I did a fair amount of running uphill, until my knee muscles and lower thigh muscles were burning.
Back and showered now and looking forward to all the muscles my body is going to build in response.
Lyme Park is incredibly beautiful. We saw a herd of deer 🦌🦌🦌🦌 and 2 rabbits 🐇 🐇.
Glad that’s over. Night night!

Hills, hills and more hills! Looks pretty 😍. As hard as they are, nothing beats standing on top looking at what you just accomplished and feeling oh so strong and powerful 💪.
Well done Baddie. Looks spectacular. Running up serious hills plays havoc with calf muscles so all respect to you. More of a flat jockey myself. I'm with Dexy5 good place for a walk.
I wish I could have posted more photos. I loved the feeling of being really jammy as the rain stopped just for our run, and just in our area as you might be able to see from the photo. We could see it raining a few miles away 🌨🌧
Yes I can see the rain cloud moving away. I was lucky like that on my last run too (although I wanted to try out my rain jacket). I bet it was just amazing scenery!
Wow, very well done Baddie👏👏👏🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️ Running in Lyme Park is for serious (or totally mad) runners. Had a lovely walk there last autumn and that was enough for me!
Ooh I miss Lyme Park. I used to take the children sledging down those hills and did few hikes with the scouts there. We had serious boots on. I can't imagine running it
Thank you. I reckon I'd still be bringing up the tale end, like I was the first time I did it months ago. Haven't been tempted to do it again as yet, but will do it when Pianism has it set for the VRB tourist run if I'm around then.
