Back on home turf again so no lovely woodland runs for me today, but after lots of map checking last week a new route to try π The seasons are certainly on the change, long sleeve top for me at 6.30 this morning (although later I regretted that decision)
My new route crosses my railway track then heads along farm tracks covered by loose limestone chippings. They are rights of way but nowhere I'd dog walk as they're lined by high hedges blocking out any views, probably good for me so I'm less tempted to stop and admire the scenery π As there are lots of hilly bits I'd decided I could stop and walk if needed which I did several times but I was pleased that I'd always managed to get over half way up before needing to walk. My plan is to try and run further up each hill every time I run the routeβ¦ π€
Another 45 minutes done, so next Sunday I'll be moving up to 50 minutes π―
Enjoy your Sunday x

Sounds like you're sorted dijep. Pesky hills are a bind but well done for challenging yourself. I would expect they're a good marker of progress. Keep up the effort 50minutes will be done!! ππ
That looks lovely dijep! I do love running along the flat seafront where I am but when I see everyoneβs pictures of the glorious countryside, Iβm quite envious! Youβre right about the cooler mornings- I was mithering over long or short sleeves this morning but was very glad I opted for short in the end! Happy running !
It's funny how we all long somewhere else when looking at our VRB photos! It's live to run along a sea front πI also realise I have sleeveless and long sleeve but no short sleeve tops suitable for running...
I've been out today for my next short 20' run. It's a beautiful morning here too. I will soon have to begin my runs in layers as there's a little bit of a cool feel first thing. I don't get far before my jacket is tied round my waist though.
I never knew there were so many hills in East Anglia until I started running here. But although I'm still as slow as ever I can get up them now without stopping. I suppose that's progress of a sort.
Yes you don't realise that some routes are actually hilly until you try running them. Well done for getting up your hills without stopping. Hopefully I'll get there eventually π
Wonderful dijep. That looks like a route that will stay dry underfoot even when the rain comes. Well done for tackling hills too!
I find I am having to think about new routes too now as my runs are getting longer. Time for me to get my map out as well I think. Enjoy exploring your new routes ππ·
Yes I think it should be a pretty good route, it leads onto a road that I can run along (with a foot path) and make a circular route. The other advantage is its really quiet as not many people walk there, the disadvantage is the smell of the pig farm π
I can imagine it gets even more difficult finding 10k routes, good luck with your maps.
My glutes are in much better shape - only the odd niggle now. But I'm just doing some slow, short runs at the moment until I feel its safe to increase again. The physio warned me that my legs would feel weak for a bit after seeing her. Not sure why but she was right. So onwards with the dreaded foam roller and exercises!
