New 5km Tempo Run - but beware the sneaky extra 3km!!

Hi all

I noticed Coach Bennett advertised a new NRC 5Km Tempo run, so I gave it a go today, thinking 'yes, that's fine a 5km to challenge me' It certainly did that!! 😁 Its a toughie and is has a sneaky extra 3km, 1.5km warm up and 1,5km cool down, but I felt really good once Ive finished, despite the head on winds on the way home!!

Lovely views today, ran past a house with peacocks, turkeys, chicken, geese and even a couple of swans on the river bank opposite, one of the days when you realise how lucky you are, to live in the countryside. 😊

Have a good week all, give the run ago, and watch out for the cheeky added 3km!!πŸ‘πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

I did an NRC one like that ages ago, I think it was the 8k Tempo Run that one caught me out and ended up being 10k. I went out yesterday and running against the wind is tough, so well done for sticking with it despite the additional 3k and head on winds πŸ‘

Yes !!! Exactly the same happened to me today - it was the 8k tempo run which turned into 12 k - gah !! I had no intention to do 12k but did manage to squeeze 9k out of my legs. πŸ€ͺ

Haha, yep they're sneaky aren't they! Good warning about the 8Km tempo run though, as I've thought about doing that one, and don't think I could do 12km, so I'll bear that in mind when do I do decide to do it! πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Well done Hedgehogs! I did that run a few weeks ago and the extra 3k really caught me out!

But brilliant you kept going. I need to get back out there again, but not really feeling it right now post vaccination!

It did take me a couple of weeks to get back to where I was, but that was more to do with I hadn't been able to gt out and run because of the snow and ice. Sorry to hear the vaccination is having post effects, I had mine back end of Feb and apart from my arm being a bit tender, I've not been affected at all. Hope you feel better soon and can get back out there. I'm sure you will soon! πŸ˜ƒπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ
