Just a quick one today, left calf has been playing up since the HM and wasnt sure about running at all today but really wanted to get out π€£
A steady paced 5km seemed the best option and leg felt decent after about 3km and was tempted to go on for 10 but a slight slip on some horrible mud niggled the calf again close to 5k so I didn't push it and stopped.
Also brought my January run total to 150km I've just realised πππ
Have a great weekend everybody and hope your runs are easy and pain free! ππ»

Great that you were able to get out and achieve the 5k, I always like to take it slightly easier the week after a HM just to give the legs chance to recover from any niggles, take care with the calf muscle and youβll soon be running the dizzy distances of HM again πππ
Glad you stopped at 5k rather than risking further injury. What an amazing distance you've covered this month helped by your January Β½marathon. Hope the injury sorts itself out soon to allow you to continue with these great achievements. Happy running π€
Good you got our for your 5km, shake out the legs after your HM but that calf niggle might need a rest, or at the very least a session on the evil foam roller πIf I have to suffer with it, I want everyone else to as well π€£π€£
These damn wet conditions are not good for running. Innocent mud patches can be the enemy. If only it would stop raining!!
That's a great total you've run, not far from 100 miles π well done for stopping at 5k today, i was wondering how things were after your HM π₯΅ i did 10k today, still bit of a thigh/groin niggle, it's ok while i'm out, just stiffens a bit later! We've got snow forcast again tomorrow βΉ
Oh blimey π€¦πΌββοΈ to be honest I think im gonna take the weekend off anyway, rest this calf properly. Although....how far off 100 miles am I?π€£π€
Well done for reaching 150km but double well done for stopping at 5k and listening to the poorly leg 𦡠ππ» - you donβt want the dreaded IC calling
Wise decision. Take extra good care of that calf. Your 150k is *totally* amazing already... and there are all those months ahead!!! π ... and maybe with improvements to the weather too. ππ€βοΈ
Oh I can reply to this one RR! π I tried to reply to your 22K (which I read as 22miles at first btw π€£) but I couldnβt post because I am not in the half marathon community. So first off many congratulations on that!!!ππ₯³
Secondly I have had discomfort in the lower inside of my right calf for a week and at the end of yesterdays run it was hurting when I run for first time ever.
So Iβm not running until better. Especially as I feel it when I walk too.
Best to be safe! Gonna rest it up today and give it a good massage and see how it feels tomorrow.
Yeah the making a decision on which forum to post in is tough as not everybody is in all of them! I ended up just joining lots of them even if I don't use them yet π€£
