Keswick Parkrun #10 in the rain.

I guess everyone will have same tale of rainy runs today - at least it wasn't cold. I had a good run, although running through 10 inch deep water for parts of it will not have improved my time. Still jeffing a bit for the knee, but it is generally much better this week.

I ran 3Km on Tuesday, 4Km on Thursday, and now the 5Km parkrun, so not a bad week. I might start thinking of repeating the infamous 7Km soon, but on a flatter route than the one that did for my knee.

I ordered some winter running tights and a long sleeve top, and tried the tights out today (no, you are not getting a picture!) They are from Contra, the new sport-clothes company with a strongly ethical set of policies, founded by the founder of Parkrun. Not cheap, but good. I only wish someone did brightly coloured Flick-styles for men...

"Sadly" I don't think there are any Flick style leggings for men, glad you enjoyed your 5k Parkrun this morning despite all puddles, what they now call 'standing water', great week for running 🏃for you with those other 3 and 4k runs on Tuesday and Thursday.

For most of the way it was not 'standing' water, it was 6 to 10 inch deep torrent using the path as the route of least resistance down the hill. It's an out and back course, so the deep bit was used twice.....

But great to be out running!

Did you 2 miss Pink’s post about the incredible men’s rainbow leggings in the sale! No one was brave enough to order any...😂😂😂❤️

Perhaps only for the London Marathon mountaindreamer, men can get away with wearing anything on that race, perhaps some men here on C25K if they are thinking of running in the LM next year could ask Flick for a lone of her bright leggings for that event, 😂

Yes, I missed it. Now that I know I like running in tights, I would not be averse to some of the ones Flick wears. I don't see any need for gender colour discrimination. My wife might have other ideas mind. 😵😮😱❤

Good for you, OF! (Have to admit I’m female and just wear plain black shorts or leggings though! 😂😂😂) I did look at the new Contra range, as I like the whole philosophy of it, and the fact the profits go to Parkrun. It’s quite pricey, though, and I really can’t justify needing extras in anything they offer...

As for saving yourselves for the LM, AlMorr , our Hoylake 10k run a few weekends ago had a rather large gentleman running in just a bright rainbow tutu and rainbow wig, while clutching a glittery rainbow handbag! (I’m assuming it was for charity, but who knows!😊😊🤷‍♀️)

Well done theoldfellow. No rain at Southsea today where I was marshal but very strong South westerly- I was glad I wasn’t running in that. But next week I will do it again even if I’m walking. Good to see you increasing your runs and getting back on track.

You'll come back stronger Dexy, never fear.

Thanks, someone was running with their arm in a sling today but nurse thought it would be a bad idea for me at the moment . She’s a runner so I’ll follow her guidance

Well done to you! 😊 Must be difficult having to rein in your running because of your knee, so extra well done for being careful.

Glad you got out, OF, despite the weather and the knee! Sounds like you are cautiously back on track again? 😃🏃‍♂️❤️ I’m about to try a slow, cautious 5k, as didn’t dare try Parkrun today due to a new somewhat painful shoulder injury...😣

I'll consider myself back on track when I can beat my Parkrun PB 34.15 - today was 35.11, and have done a 7Km. It was the 7Km that did for me. But I am not fretting it, any run is better than the IC. At my age you take what the Lord sends.🙏
