I have been struggling a lot this year and most of last year getting back to fitness after my horrible virus ( possibly THE virus ) oct 2019/ end of jan 2020. Last March I re-did C25k and got to where I could run for 30 minutes comfortably again, then I worked my way up to 10k again gently and just pottered about between the two for the rest of the year.
Then this winter I had lots of chest issues and hip issues and averaged 5k a week through Dec and Jan, and then only ran once in Feb. So I started out to see how I would be running again on March 1st and was pleasantly surprised to run for 30 mins again with a couple of 1 min walks. But since then it’s got harder and harder !!!
This morning I ran walked for 30 mins but I really think there was more walk than run going on. I did alternate minutes for the first 10, then managed 5 straight, and a bit later another 4 but then it was just 1 minute runs.
It’s not my breathing particularly and I make sure to have a good blast on my inhaler before I go out but I feel like my legs just won’t keep going and as though I’m going to keel over if I do. I know I have sneaked a bit of weight on over the last year but it shouldn’t make that much difference. I’m making sure I’m well hydrated and sleeping well most nights. It’s really beginning to get to me.
So I am going to go back to C25k again and take it slow. I also have a dr appt ( phone) on Friday so I am going to discuss it with her. Last time I had my BP check they did an angiogram and said there were some anomalies so maybe it’s time to chase that up
Sorry for the rant but it is so frustrating!!!

Don't apologise limberlou. You've had a bit of a rubbish time of it with one thing or another. I hope things get a lot better for you and good luck with c25k x😊😊
Oh dear , this must be so frustrating for you limberlou! I’ve been stuck to the IC myself for weeks and like you I feel I’m going nowhere! But I hope the appointment with the doctor comes up with some sort of answer for you and that you can get back out there soon!
Yes they are now saying it was around earlier than we realised. I couldn’t walk across the room without getting out of breath. Worst I’ve ever felt but it’s 18 months now!!! 🥴
Oh boo. So discouraging. That feeling that your legs are in charge and just WONT go any faster is so discouraging. Hang in there. Fingers crossed for you. 💕
I hope you manage to sort it out limberlou. Sounds like you're doing all the right things. It's so frustrating when you lose fitness but it might just need a bit of work to get back to where you were. 🤞
Sorry to hear about you health issues ll. hope the dr can give you some answers or at least investigate 🤞you’ll be back to full strength soon. Take care 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
Sorry to hear this. It is very frustrating when your good level of fitness drops. I was ill during Xmas 2019 which led on to a 3 week dry cough and extreme fatigue that took me a few weeks to recover from. On hindsight it may well have been The Virus.
I started C25k in April and by December I was able to run a 5k easily in around 36 minutes. However, on Saturday I had The Jab and have been feeling a bit ill since, with extreme tiredness. An experimental jog on Tuesday left me totally exhausted.
Like you, I would just like to get back to normal as soon as possible
Don’t apologise limberlou, we all entitled to rant sometimes. You sound so frustrated but hang in there, spring and sunshine ☀️will come and that will certainly perk you up. It’s hard to stay motivated in the cold and wet weather.
Good luck with your C25K and fingers crossed 🤞🏻when you see your GP.
You rant as much as you like limberlou. It hasn’t been a good year for you. Going back to C25k is a great idea, and of course you know it works. Conversation pace with snails please 🐌. Good luck with doctors appointment.
Sorry to hear that things are not to plan. I'm sure that visit to the doctor will be reassuring - or else get things in motion to get sorted. Either way it will be a positive step. Sounds like you have a lot to put up with though - so take care of yourself
