A happy 7.2k, but are Jack and Eugene gone?

☀️This morning was it! I thought, long run, here I come. Hubby off to volunteer with the vaccination centre, I had a day off work so I could see a long delicious sunny run .... I planned, I saw, I ran!

🌧 Aimed for 7k, did a bit more. And plan was to do my usual 5k route and then just add my old C25k route. That latter one had become inaccessible throughout winter due to a severe invasion of squelchy, thigh-deep mud.

🧭 So today I was going to explore the state of that route, and it was so nice to reconnect with my (now dryer) route of yonder, even despite having already run 5k.

🐌 So managed a slow and delicious 7.2k and held back from simply shuffling along the whole route, which would have probably gotten me to 9k, but I kept to the 10% rule. Yes, madam, I did!

🦵And it felt good, but by the evening (now) I could feel the 7k in my legs, even despite having done my yoga practice in the afternoon, adding a special session of down dogs, just to keep the aches and stiffness down (along with non-existent dogs).

🗺 On LEJOG I’m back in England at 214 miles and I can see B’ham in the far distance! Yey!

🧟 And I finally finished Season 1 on Zombies, Run! Annoyingly, I had forgotten to download Radio Abel, which meant after finishing my first mission of Season 2 it did not switch to Jack and Eugene 😞. Bummer, but I started to listen to Radio Abel once in the shower but Jack and Eugene are gone!!! 😱 Surely that can’t be!

So besides Radio Abel’s favourite DJs gone missing, a brilliant day and run!

Yes, and I couldn’t believe that I was wanting to do some Down Dogs! At the beginning of my yoga journey I was still gritting my teeth through every down dog! 👍🏽💪🦵

That’s the amazing thing about running and working out regularly. It’s actually so fascinating to see the relatively fast improvement!

Don’t forget to do the 5k, 10k and 20k races at the end of Season 1! There’s a few times where you are suddenly supposed to be a different person, I think probably during the New Canton Races you’re actually a New Canton runner, and I think that continues into Season 2 for an episode or two where you’re somebody else, not Abel Runner 5. I was so confused when I listened to those!

Sounds like a good run, and well done for the yoga later! My knees don’t like a too energetic yoga practice on a long Run day 😬
