I’ve been a little disheartened with the lack of improvement in my pace lately, but have been plodding along the Bridge under ju-ju’s guidance. But today I did 7k and the first 5k was over 2 mins faster than my best 5k time.
Ok there were some downhill stretches. And the wind was helping a bit. But I don’t care I’m taking it 😁.
Boy did I pay in the last 2k - the wind was head on, it was uphill and my legs were like lead. But despite that my pace was still good. My 7k was only 3.5 mins slower than last weeks 6k. So I’m chuffed.
Hope you have all stayed safe in the wind today and good luck for this weeks runs 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️

Good for you jayval, what a fantastic run! I’m doing 7k tomorrow after my ‘reset week’, and I hope the wind has died down a bit! 🏃♀️ You’re braver than me, I just walked the dog (and bought the shoes!) 😅
You’re definitely speeding up, so well done. Isn’t a fab feeling when that happens? Shows all our hard work is paying off. 😀👏👍👊
Aw thanks Cheeky. Yes it was good to see some progress - I think the interval runs are helping. I hope your rest has done you good and you enjoy your 7k 🏃♀️🏃♀️
Brilliant jayval70 ....ijayval70....if pace improves while your concentrating on building up your distance then that's a bonus...I'd be worried about burning myself out before the end of the run...once I've found my comfortable pace I stick to it...well done for that, the wind can make such a difference, I'd rather it be behind though!!
Thanks. I wasn’t really trying to start out fast (well less slow 🐌) - it just happened somehow. Then when I realised it spurred me on to keep going. I think I’d better be careful on the 8k though and take it steady.
