Out for an early-ish run today in an attempt to find quieter trails!
I have been running over on our local Parkrun course just recently, as it is all on grass and around fields and although I come across dogwalkers and the odd runner, it is very easy to give everyone a wide berth! It also has the dubious benefit of a big hill which I run twice - very good for building up strength! ๐ช๐ฉ๐
But today, it was all about running my favourite route - on the local bridleways, farm roads and woodland paths that meander around fields of sheep and the beautiful Surrey countryside.
I am happy to report, Irishprincess , that the bluebells are indeed starting to flower and it really was great to be back pounding the paths I know and love so well.๐ Definately quieter for having gone a little earlier too! ๐
I also found, like others on here, that those who I did pass were polite and friendly and thanked me for moving out to pass them - 'enjoy your run' said one lady!
I have been keeping my distance down a little lately and trying to work on strength and flexibility to see if this helps stabilise my slightly niggly knee! I have been loving 'Yoga with Adrienne' and am also using a fitness app discovered by my teenage son.
My other son has also taken to running regularly (having discovered the gym at Uni!) and I think we now have a third runner in the house! ๐ Yesterday he completed his first 7k run on the trails - the route I ran today! I have to say he ran his significantly quicker than me but hey, that's youth for you! ๐คทโโ๏ธ๐คฃ
Happy running everyone - if and when you can. Stay safe and keep looking for the rainbows...๐๐x

Thanks Sandraj39 sounds like a lovely run!๐โโ๏ธ Glad to hear people are maintaining distance and being courteous, Iโm finding that down in Bognor too๐๐
Itโs great to be able to get out and enjoy nature and the sunshine while we can๐๐
Take care everyone, stay safe and look after yourselves and your loved ones๐๐
They are David - on one of my other routes there is a small alleyway that leads on to our recreation ground. We all seem to now be waiting and giving way to whoever is coming in the opposite direction! All very polite and thankful here! Glad it's the same for you too - makes you smile doesn't it! Take care.๐
Great post Sandra. Despite everything your running seems to have hit a sweet spot, and family being involved adds another dimension. Just keep your roll going ๐๐
Thanks Beachcomber, I need my running for mental wellbeing more than ever at the moment! I feel so lucky to be able to run!๐
That's a nice run Sandra ๐ a run should be a happy place away from everything else around us (especially now) like yourself I've a teenager in the house that seemingly has caught that running thingy-bug (non life threatening but extremely addictive ๐ฅฐ)
How wonderful! A run full of lightness and joy and appreciation, just what's needed right now ๐. You'll be able to enter a family relay team soon ๐
Ha ha! ๐๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐ Me and the eldest are going to run the Parkrun course together at the weekend! He's even talking about getting a Garmin! Bliss!๐๐คฃ
A lovely run Sandraj39. My sister has just sent me a pic of her bluebell woods and says they are at their peak now. I miss getting out into the country but Iโll look at the invasive Spanish bluebells in my garden and pretend.
Good news on your elder son - I guess heโd have more influence on younger son than you. ๐
What a gorgeous photo Sandra! And what a fab sounding run too, Iโm glad the bluebells are out in your area as well, weโre so lucky to be able to enjoy them. I guess there are people who have never, ever seen a bluebell โน๏ธ
And youโve got a real family team going there! Well done everyone. Perhaps when this is over you could all enter a race..... xxx
Thank you! It would be great to all run together one day (by which I mean -my son somewhere ahead, OH in the middle and me at the rear!!๐คฃ) . At least I'll have the support at the finish line!๐คฃ๐คฃ
Love the rainbow ๐ ๐ Glad you enjoyed a run on a favourite route, which sounds delightful. It is nice to have another runner in the family who โunderstandsโ ๐ My hubby is running regularly now after completing Couch to 5k last year. The dog is getting very fit running with us 6x a week๐ถ๐พ (we are both trying to run 3x a week)! Happy running ๐
