10k done this morning, but all a bit of a chore. . .

My plan last night was to do 10k along the old railway line route (a favourite of mine) this morning. When I got up this morning I realised today was also the day new pipes were being laid in the street and there was probably going to be problems getting the car in and out. Plan B was to go to the local country park instead, that too I would normally have driven to. Its only about 2k away but involves crossing main roads, a dual carriageway and parts with no footpath but this morning I decided to leave the car on the drive and run it. It was OK when I got to country park but I realised why I normally drive, lots of little hills, traffic and dodging cars etc. I did a lap of the country park and then navigated the unpleasant bit back home again, one of those routes where you think, hmmmm OK done it but maybe not again. On a more positive note; 10k done on a Monday morning, a good start to the week and my weekly mileage goal πŸ‘πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ˜ Happy running everybody, have a good week 😁

Well done OG! It’s funny how different a route that you drive regularly appears when on foot isn’t it? At least you tried, and succeeded. Great 10k too. A nice distance under your belt to start the week. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Yes I must admit I do prefer peace and quiet for my runs and under normal circumstances its worth five or tens minutes in the car to get that, but as you say its still 10k done πŸ‘πŸ˜

A great start to the week indeed. Sometimes you need a little reminder why you drive to the start of runs. Happy running πŸ€—

So true . . . maybe I'm just a bit of a fussy runner too πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Be as fussy as you want if it means a happy run

A great run , OG. Strangely enough yesterday I was encouraging my son, who lives in Upton, to get out of his home gym and do a bike ride where you ran. (No luck. He prefers the warmth of his garage).

Well Upton Country Park as you probably know is quite new but its a great place for running and biking, although it did get a bit flooded a few weeks ago, I was up to my ankles in water at one point! 😬

Good Run Orange, I am very close to you most of my Runs are AbingtonPark/The Race course/Bradlaugh fields easy to add up to watever distance, The railway is for sure nice and flat did my first 12k there but it can be boring and Dodging all the cyclists at the Weekend, keep promising myself to do Pitsford but Back issues have stopped me right now.

Yes, I'm planning a Pitsford circuit run at some point also. I do quite like the Brampton Valley Way early mornings when its nice and quite to listen to an audiobook, I also like the fact that its an "out and back" type run, you get half way and then you are committed! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ . . . hope the back is soon better.

A great start to the week! I'm glad you could get to the country park eventually!

Thanks, yes it was OK, after all that I could have got the car out, the road was only partially closed in the end πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜
